    Sea Wolf
    The Violet Hour:

    Your lips are nettles,
    Your tongue is wine.
    Your laughter's liquid,
    But your body's pine.

    You love all sailors,
    But hate the beach.
    You say "come touch me",
But you're always out of reach.

In the dark you tell me of a flower,
That only blooms in the Violet Hour

    Your arms are lovely,
    Yellow and Rose.
    Your back's a meadow,
    Covered in snow.

    Your thighs are thistles,
    And Hot-House grapes
    You breathe your sweet breath,
    And have me wait.

In the dark you tell me of a flower,
That only blooms in the Violet Hour.

    I turn the lights out,
    I clean the sheets.
    You change the station,
    Turned up the heat.

    And now your sitting,
    Upon your chair.
    You've got me tangled up,
    Inside your beautiful, black, hair.

In the dark you tell me of a flower,
That only blooms in the Violet Hour.

In the dark you tell me of a flower,
That only blooms in the Violet Hour...

In my opinion this song is about a woman and or sex. He's describing a beautiful yet mysterious woman, in example: "Your arms are lovely, Yellow and Rose. Your back's a meadow, covered in Snow. Your thighs are thistles and Hot-House grapes. You breathe your sweet breathe and have me wait. You love all sailors but hate the beach you say 'Come touch me', but you're always out of reach." the beauty is in the "yellow and rose description and in saying that her thighs are thistles and hot-house grapes". The mystery is in say how she lIves all sailors but hates the beach and your say come touch me but your always out of reach". Basically the verses describe her best.

The sexual inuendos are in the chorus, " In the dark you tell me of a flower that only blooms in the violet hour" it can be taken as a beautiful/ shy girl who reveals herself to him in the moment of passion hence the 'Violet Hour'. Others take it as the 'flower' being her vagina which obviously blooms in the moment of passion.

Me personally I think it's him describing a beautiful mysterious and shy woman and making love to her in the violet hour. It's really a favorite song of mine and I think it's beautiful I listen to it often especially when I'm sad I listen to it to lift my spirits. Hope this was helpful! :)
