The Butterfly Effect: Room Without a View Meaning
Room Without a View Lyrics
-
It has been said that ones faith in oneself isn't in material possessions or other people, but hiding somewhere within their souls. I think that this song is about self belief and how while some people have found it within themselves, for others it is still lost inside of them, waiting to be found.
'Watching, and waiting'
This person is waiting for the day when they'll feel good about something.
'A room without a view' the place where that person found their self belief is the last place anyone would suspect (hence the room without a view).
'Searching, through surgery, for something' using forceful ways of finding what they're looking for (surgery) for any traces of self confidence.
'Lost inside of you.'
When someone over thinks something they find themselves lost within their own thoughts.
'Stand me up and push me forward'
Receiving motivation for something.
'Staring back in front of me, where were you hiding?' their self confidence is now in plane sight, why did it take so long to be found?
'I was blind but now I see where you were hiding'
That person has now found confidence within themselves.
'For so long,
Was I so wrong?
Or another casualty?'
For such a long time, was that person just another casualty of lack of faith in oneself? Or was that person just wrong and confused about the blurred lines between faith in oneself and a lack thereof, maybe there isn't much of a line drawn in the first place.......

Anyway, that's my two cents. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows. But i love The Butterfly Effect, they are a consistantly amazing band that never cease to amaze me :D
