Hey this song by THE CURE for me is about a ''gathering place'' for modern day friends. Like did Ancient World Leaders of The East that hanged out and talked. Similar to what was going on in ''The Hanging Garden[s]'' of Babylon. In which They talked about the things that made beast and men tick. A time when Humanity was developing and living closer being in awe within the natural law of animal and nature.
