Album cover for The Real Me album cover

Song Released: 1974

The Real Me Lyrics

I know a girl who welcomes the world
I think though the world is spoiled
And she holds on to me
She holds my head up so that I can breathe
And I've found that when I'm on the ground
She's the only one still sticking around
Only she knows...

This is from the concept album "Quadrophenia". The album follows Jimmy, a mod. This song is about how Jimmy tries to go to people for help with his internal struggles, but no one listens to him because they all have their own motives, wrong ideas about him, or just don't care.
