Just Like You Lyrics

I could be mean
I could be angry
You know I could be just like you

I could be fake
I could be stupid
You know I could be just like you

You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You’re wrong if you think that I’ll...

Again, the band explains this one on the website. They said that it's about how someone tries to make you do something, and they expect you to do it, but they(adam, probably) do what they want to do.

This song is just telling you to be yourself. Individuality is key. If you watch the video, you'll get it like that, everyone standing there wearing the same mask. Yeah, it's common for that band.

"Just Like You" sounds more like the band dealing with an egotistical, self-serving manager than a father figure... A peer trying to take advantage of a situation by trying to seem like he's holding the golden ticket.

I think this song is about some one who just came out of a very bad relationship and they decide not to become anything like they’re ex because honestly they were a bitch.

This song may be in the mind of a young person struggling with a parent problem. It seems in this song it talks about no wanting to be like them, and they fear turning out like that parent. "You thought you were always there guide me, you were only in my way." The parent may have some security issues that cause their child to see them as a bad influence or person.

This song could be almost about everything, having parents who are trying to control you even though you know what's really best, it could be about religion via not wanting to be like the "real" savior that everyone " believes" in, a certain person you know is fake and useless to society but is a role model, and etc.......

This songs speaks about being yourself and not to let anyone control your life "I could be just like you" it says from someone controlling you they are destroying your life and everything is going down hill to you realize you are better then that person and you live your own life.

IT means that someone is telling you how you should live your life but all you want to do is chose your own path.

He had horrible parents. They were probably much like mine. They think that they are helping you. In their sick, twisted minds, they believe that the things they are doing are good for you. However, in reality, they are psychotic, chaotic, delusional, paranoid, mean, hateful, addicted, sadistic, and dramatic. All they are doing is getting in the way of what could be a wonderful life for their child. They dont realize it, but they are the root of all the problems in his life. He will never be anything like them because they are horrible. He will do everything he can to be the exact opposite.

He speaks about how parents(his?)/adults try to manipulate the young to act the way they do. They want them to be their shadow, when the young want to be their own person the adults see it as a sin....

I think its about his dad, at least that's what i think when i hear the song because it reminds me exactly of my dad. An angry pissed off guy who's always trying to control what i do and I'm becoming more and more like him every day and hate it.

I think this song is about power. As said in the lyrics, the "band" can pretty much do anything. "I could be mean" etc. Although they can do everything, they chose not to do what they're told. They have the power and ability to go toe-to-toe with any other band or person, but with their own style.

I believe this is about how everyone tries to make you be someone you're not. Eventually you realise that if you're not yourself, who are you and breaking away from the rest of the hive.

i think it means how he's tired of his dad or such keeps putting him down and how he thinks about it. he sings that how the person wants him to be perfectly like him. but then he says "your wrong if you think i'll be JUST LIKE YOU". he says how he's going to take a stand against the oppretion aand fight back finally.

To me and I think others may have the same opinion but I've always though it's about parents telling their son/daughter how to live and trying to make them live their lives the way he wants them to live it, ont the way they want to, adam didn't want to be like his father, he wanted to be a really person as such, he wanted to be true to himself and his friends
