   Everybody says its about parental it can give a turn like that but with the video i think its about a facilty or something trying to control everything or everybody getting them all to be the same or somthing like that. Regardless its a great song

   I think he is talking about his relationship with his father "On my own, because I can't living with you" So he is living with this person,as a teenager I remember feeling some resentment towards my father and the feeling of "I can't wait to move out", it is kind of a stage of growing up. Of course the lead singer may have had a REALLY bad experience with his father which inspired him to write a song.

   I think this song is about either his mother or father,
   YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE THERE TO GUIDE ME, YOU WERE ONLY IN MY WAY YOUR WRONG IF YOU THINK I'LL THAT I'LL BE JUST LIKE YOU
   it kinda gives off some sort of parental guidence that they never wanted and that they found it in the way and frustrating.

   I think I agree with all of the other interpretations...but before I read them I thought that maybe he was talking about his father.
   
   "You thought you were there to guide me..you're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you"
   
   that kind of made a "paternal" impression on me. Like maybe his father wasn't so great..and the dad wants him to grow up to be just like him..but he didn't want to because of the example that the dad had set for him by being "weak, stupid, mean and ruthless".
