    It's about feeling trapped in a place where no one knows who you truly are and finding an escape in something or someone. At least that is my thoughts on it. This is how I felt when listening to this song.

    I honestly love this song so much. His voice makes everything seem okay. this song makes me realize that people have it worse than me, and take drugs to feel happy. never take ur happiness for granted and be grateful for what you have

    This song was made for fellow youtuber, Connor Franta, who was going through depression because he was finding himself and accepting himself in being gay. "happy little pill" is most likely an antidepressant that Connor would take to please the fans

    I personally think that the "happy pills" he talks about aren't antidepressent but more extasy.
    "My sweet little pill
    Take my hunger
    Light within
    Numb my skin"
    I don't know for you, but personally I took some and more than just a few times and it would totally make me feel like that. During the buzz, you just forget about how your life sucks and it just give you the illusion that you're feeling happy. But then, I don't know I'm not the one who wrote it.

    Maybe it is about somebody who is depressed, but they feel like they don't want/need anti-depressants because this person is their anti-depressant, they make them happy and, to quote the song, bring colour to their skies.

    Or somebody who is taking anti-depressants, but also has a person who is their "happy little pill".

    I think he isn't talking about pills at all. I have read the lyrics 4 times and I've listened to the song 100 times. When I first heard the song I feel in love with out. I looked up the lyrics and as I read through the first few line I was so confused. I reread it and I still didn't understand and I then came to the conclusion he was literally singing about a pill. It was only my third read-through that it sunk in he might not actually be talking about pills. He could be talking about anything that made him feel that way really, maybe the pill is a metaphor. It could be a sport, or a pet, or a song, or a person. Then again I could be totally wrong. That's just what I think.

    I thought it was clearly about taking antidepressants to numb yourself and help you get through life. Happy pills are slang for antidepressants

    Troye is alluding to the problem that for many people, everyday life doesn't make them happy. His metaphor is not complete though, he is still referring quite bluntly to ecstasy.

    coming from personal experiences, I think that this song is talking about being in a deep state of depression. The "happy" pill is either a drug someone used as a coping skill for this internal pain, or the pill was taken so that they would no longer be alive, as the lyrics say My happy little pill Take me away, Dry my eyes, Bring color to my skies, My sweet little pill, Take my hunger, Light within, Numb my skin. which we cant necessarily determine which meaning he meant, but either way he is also saying that material objects cant make you happy. Those items don't make your life better.

    I think it means that he knows someone who is suicidal hence when it says my happy little pill take me away. And he wants to make that person happy also hence bring color to my skies.

    This is a story. "My Happy Little Pill" is referring to some sort of drug that Troye's friend took. Maybe his friend had issues with his life and decided to dedicate that song to him? I honestly do not know for the life of me, But I know it has a meaning about a drug.

    In my opinion when Troye says "my happy little pill,take me away" He's saying that the pill(drug) should take him away as In let the drug should kill him,so that it can dry his eyes and take away all how pain and tiers.When he says "bring colours to my skies"He means he wants happiness instead of looking up to a dark sky everyday but nothing to look to.

    The owls in Troyes happy little pill do they mean wisdom like saying "I need help" because maybe the owls will bring help as well as wisdom..... either way I love Troye and when he is comphy talking about it then we should question it.
