at the first few parts of the song i thought it is meant to be a happy one...but the last few lines indicates, it is not. the first few parts where the speaker says that she will/can do anything if the guy is with her. she dreamed of them growing old together but the last few part suggests that the guy will marry another woman.."It was now and we were both in the same place
Didn't know how to say the words
With my heart ticking like a bomb in a birdcage
I left before someone got hurt"... on this part she tried to object on that wedding but she decides to just run away before she hurt herself or someone else. the last line.."Oh it was what I wouldn't do
when I had you, babe, when I had you"..means they were together before but the speaker isn't ready yet to live her life with the guy but now that she is ready to do everything for the guy it is too late!
