#1 top rated interpretation:For me it's a song about the love of a parent for his baby. New born baby, and what they will do through life.
It's all about protection and caring, "embrace" "hold you" etc ... who is scared at night and cries ? Who calms down when you hold them ? A baby. there is also the signs of the person being not completely developed ans not as wise of the narrator: "haven't made up your mind yet" etc...
There is the vocabulary of a baby journey like crawling etc...
Anyway if you read the lyrics thinking about the love for your baby, and how you will pass through anything to show your absolute love for them, how it passes by protection, by you getting old and wise, how you would like then to one day live the same and therefore have the same thoughts... if you think about how they are the only people than you can promess such an inconditionnal love for ever ... you will see it like i do -

#2 top rated interpretation:In my opinion it's a song of heartbreak. She loves someone dearly and wants to show him but she can't. It's probably someone she can't have or someone who doesn't feel the same about her. When she sings I feel her sadness. It's a sad, lonely and helpless feeling when you love someone and have to keep it hidden and bottled up. She just wants to touch him, hold him, kiss him and just love and care for him. What a beautiful voice she has to be able to make the listener feel her sorrow. Such a sad thing when love goes to waste.

I belevie that this song is about a guy Adele loves, (I have had it happen were u love someone and they don't love u,) and the pain in her voice as she sings sounds like the way I felt when it happed to me.The way she says "go to the ends of the earth for you to make u feel my love", anybody would feel like that,for someone they loved so dearly ,or someone that did'nt love them

I have played this song for years and it makes me cry, for me it is about the love of my life and wanting her to know what she means to me.
I have never given up on this love and now 9 years later there is hope we can be together- when the time is right I will play it for her. -
I listened to this song a lot when i was younger and i always thought it‘s a lovesong about unreturned love. But a few years ago I was pregnant, but I lost my baby and today I listened to this song again after a very long time and i started crying when i heard the lyrics.. it‘s like they are exactly about what i‘m feeling. Now it definitely sounds to me like the endless, unconditional love you have for your children and I will never be able to unhear it again.. „warm embrace“, „you haven‘t made your mind up yet“, „you ain‘t seen nothing like me yet“, „no one there to dry your tears i could hold you for a million years“

This song is about the love I feel for a guy I have never met, never will met and will never be with. I would do anything for him, I’d travel the length of the earth just to look in his eyes or feel his hand touch mine, I’d give up every earthly material possession, just for one kiss. If he knew how much I loved him and could feel it just for a few seconds, he would know those pains in his chest weren’t pains at all, he would know it was his heart wanting to come home. I think this song comes from the point of a view of a woman who so desperately wants to love, care for, and be with a man who is hurting. He pushes her away because he doesn't want to hurt her, but she doesn't care... even if she gets hurt it doesn't matter as long as she gets the chance to love him with everything she has. She just wants him to trust her, when she knows trust is hard for him. Her yearning for this man, is slowly tearing her to pieces but she still continues to be there for him in every way that she can. :)

I miscarried at 12 weeks, this song immensely made me cry when I heard

Ever since then, the rest of the lyrics makes sense. Personally for me, it's the pain of having this great deep love for someone but you will never have the chance to show them, it's the pain of not knowing how this person will love you back. -
