Alan Jackson: Summertime Blues Meaning

Song Released: 1994
Summertime Blues Lyrics
About workin' all summer just to try an' earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby, to try to get a date
My boss says, "No dice, son, you gotta work late"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm...
-
I believe this song is about summertime, and how so many youths often struggle with feelings of boredom, especially in the summer months, when it's hot and dry.
Well I'm a-gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler
About workin' all summer just to try an' earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby, to try to get a date,
My boss says, "No dice, son, you gotta work late"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm gonna do
'Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues
And there *is* such a thing as "the summertime blues".
This is a great cover of a great song. I like it. It's very inspiring, and very deep.
