This song is about going to school everyday "sit down dead weight and wonder", not wanting to go, but still greatful that you are not a cow "the sound of cattle screaming in my ears..im so thankful I'm not one of them". They are making the compairison that they are being hacked away at their time in life by going to school "hack me off my years", and the cows time is being hacked away also by being killed. They also talk about being beat up by a bully."school yard freaks are freezing down getting teased again."
