Sail Lyrics

SAIL!

This is how i show my love
Made it in my mind because
Blame it on my ADD baby

This is how an angel dies
Blame it on my own sick pride
Blame it on my ADD baby

SAIL!
SAIL!
SAIL!
SAIL!
SAIL!

Maybe i should cry for help...

The ADD is not actually the point to the song. The singer is in a horrible point in life. They are depressed due to mistakes that they've made (i.e "my own sick pride".) They are debating whether or not to kill themselve or seek help. They've lost their faith in god (angel dies) and don't care anymore (theme throughout the song). "sail" is referring to sailing out of this life.

Ok I have looked over a lot of the comments and some people got really deep into their meanings, BUT! Everyone is trying say he is actually blaming it on ADD but what if he isn't? Isn't the entire song/video a metephor? What if he is interpreting the "ADD" as something else? Hiding once again from someone/something I demand an answer ! .... Haha jk jk about the demanding an answer I just love doing that to people and I just love this song my sister is going to there concert in a couple weeks and I am super mad at her for not inviting me to it haha!

This is obviously a song about paranoid schizophrenia...even though he says he blames it on his a.d.d., which he may have as well as schizophrenia just not diagnosed, people with a.d.d. don't have hallucinations that aliens are trying to abduct him...which you can clearly see that that's what he was getting at. You never see any aliens...you never see anything except him running and hiding. And i believe when he said maybe i should kill myself...then tries to drown himself...he did in fact kill himself and his spirit was being carried away by the "aliens" ...you saw the light?! ah...but what light would that be?! Paranoid Schizophrenia!!!

I think it's about finding truth. Some truths are best left unknown (or life is easier if left unknown). He couldn't leave it be. He didn't think he was vunerable and was obsessed with piece it all together even though others were telling not to or crazy for doing so. He's found out something that has gotten him into trouble with the powers that be. He is being silenced. He doesn't know what to do. He is recording the story of finding the truth and leaving his last thoughts. In the chorus he is telling us to fight (sail verb - to go vigorously into action; begin to act; attack) So to me the song could be mean that if enough of us fight for the truth they can silence us all.

please people, be open minded, watch the details of the video, the lyrics are not the key, the actual video is the key. he's trying to tell the world hes an alien. the human race will never accept the fact that extratarestrials do exist. so please people watch the video again, open you mind to the possibility that we are not alone. dont be so narrow minded to believe that we are...

I think the song has to do with him giving adderall or meth to someone he loved and they died I get this from the lyric [ this is how an angel dies, I blame it on my own supply] and he feels so guilty that he should cry for help or kill himself and he wants release from the pain and to sail to release from reality.

The song is a nod to Come Sail Away by Styx, according to the singer/song-writer, hence the use of the word "Sail" throughout the song. Come Sail Away, for those of you who do not know, is about being abducted by extra terrestrial beings. This is referenced throughout the video with him being chased by an alien force, including the imagery of the space suit, scanning the home, the illumnati and other "research" on the wall, etc.

Of course, I believe the song goes much deeper than what the singer/song-writer lets on. I agree with the interpretations of being outcasted from the world with "ADD," not being viewed as "normal" and destroying relationships and extreme confusion of identity due to this detriment. But that could be my own projections on an amazingly well-written song.

I think the best explanation is that he is running away from the Illuminati. That was the point of the picture with the eye in the beginning. He initially fought it and didn't want to be a part of it. But when he realizes he has no choice he reluctantly gives in. This is apparent when in the end he says "Sail with me into the dark".

People can't take this song how they want, but without a doubt this song was written about angel dust. He could also be using ADD as an acronym for angel dust disorder instead of attention deficit disorder

    I interpret it as---
In the beginning it shows a light shining bright on his face, He runs and shuts himself in and everywhere he looks there's this light and he's trying to get away from it for some reason... he THINKS that if he RUNS, he is showing his love. He's blaming himself and his "faults" for the way it turned out.
This is how an **Angel** dies-He is giving her up because he thinks its best. For both of them. But he can't stop seeing, there's eyes all over, he can get a way from the light. (which is her in his mind-holding on no matter how hard he tries to hide)
He wants to let go and he's trying but he can't and thinks he needs help, or to kill himself to get away from the pain and memory of her. the green scanning light is because he KNOWS she can see through him. he knows she knows he's leaving her, or has left her, but now that he's made this choice he can't turn back, and the sail away with me part is HER voice in HIS head calling him back to her. That's the NON-weirdish version of my interpretation. Just thought you all might want a break from all the conspiracy interpretations. **<3**
