I believe that he wants to sail away from everything. The music video looks like it involves aliens or a UFO. He wants to be abducted.

First of all, killer song. Threads I picked up: (i) The Truman Show, where Jim Carrey lives in (basically) a virtual world, which he tries to escape by sailing across a bay, (ii) Aliens III, with the scanning laser (from a robot) (I seem to recall some other movie where someone hides from a robot in a tub -- any suggestions?), (iii) of course, the Illuminati eye, which the camera lingers on, (iv) the abduction subplot (tied in to the Truman Show, aliens, and Illuminati threads) and (v) between looks/vocals/clothes, I got somewhat of a Cobain vibe from the performer -- and for the conspiracy-theory minded, there are web sites explicating Cobain's potential Illuminati influence.

Admittedly haven't seen the video, but have to agree so strongly with the previous post. Self-alienation is the worst kind. From what you've all described about the video, maybe the briefcase is the secret he can't quite grasp and the aliens are not ET's (extra terrestrials) but rather NT's (neuro-typicals, or "normal" people).

Everyone has their own interpretations of songs, but for me personally this song really stood out to me because I had ADD. Honestly, if I had one wish I would be to rid me of this hinderance. I feel alone and outcasted because no one truly understands what I go through each day, exactly what he says "a different breed". It effects me on so many different levels, socially, academically, and in "real life". I would love nothing more than to just sail away...

I think he's trying to escape his limitations.
"Blame it on my ADD" is a reference to things holding his mind back, and all the illuminate posters are symbolic of him being followed by the government/business ect, And he is unhappy because his relationship fell through (angel cries ect)
He considers killing himself, or looking for help, and only wants to get away from his life, as illustrated by the line "Sail", and him floating away. -
i believe that this song (at least from the video) has a couple different meanings. According to supposed abducties, there is a light like the light in the video, shining through his windows. So in that sense it could be aliens, also the green light shining on him and what seems like scanning of the home, the green "spacesuit", and helmet/mask.
Although he also in the video takes out a briefcase sort of thing with what looks to be a governmental seal on it. "What does this mean", i'm not too sure. Though he grabs a recorder as iff he knows that he'll be abducted or he'll kill himself before "'someone'" or something gets him, and he wants his message to be delivered somehow.
Another oddity is the supposed illuminati all-seeing eye. This could mean illuminati, but in my eyes it means he being watched at all times, wether by aliens or possibly FBI or some Gov't service. There are other pictures on that wall, only a couple i could make out, one was just an eye, and another looked almost like jar-jar binks, but again either of those would pass as just being watched by something.
Sorry for this so long but that's just what i think, he is running away from something but in the end it all comes back to you. -
ok so the whole video is about him running/hideing from aliens. but that symbolizes trouble and the unknown. now bare with me. he explains that he shows his love differently,and its in his head,and he did somthing wrong to her (therefor the "angel dies" from his mistake or his "pride"). Get it? but his excuse for all his wrongs is to just blame it on his ADD. The word "sail" means run/leave him everytime he yells it. Next he tries to come up with ways he could fix the issue(s) by either getting help or killing himself. then he says hes different from everyone else, and hes not listening to her or anyone now, so his ideas befor don't mean anything now. he constantly says sail(leave) and at the end he says sail(leave) with me into the darkness, meaning leave, or leave with me into the dark/unknown, also meaning if she stays with him who knows how things will turn out. So the whole plot of the music video is like a fight in a relationship theres issues(running from aliens) and he tries making excuses for them(hideing from alians) but in the end it all come down to stay with him or let him go(becuase hes going into the light either way)

This video is obviously about aliens abducting some dude for his A.D.D pills because they ran out of meds. He is referring to the word "sail" as in like he is so tweaked out on cocaine that he thinks he can fly..duuhhhh anyone who watched the video could see that.

This song is about the illuminati everyone. Watch the video and you will see the pyramid with the eye which represents the illuminati. Later in the video you see him trying to hide from this thing and it shows him recording what he says. He is trying to warn us...

I believe this songs saying how people blame there problems on ADD but awolnation is putting a sarcastic take on it saying how if someone has ADD they just get put off or just get blamed for it because they have ADD. When they say "SAIL" I think they mean they want to escape from the blame and just run away
