Last Chance to Lose your Keys Lyrics

I cashed in all my chips tonight and combed my hair till it was just right.
Cause I've been thinking about you and me girl, and we got something going on.
You told me you can't wait to see me and then you didn't bother to even show up.
This...

This song is about a guy being upset about a girl giving him mixed signals.
"You told me you can't wait to see me and then you didn't bother to even show up"
"You're staring at me from across the room then turn your back when I walk up"
He is sick of her acting so fickle and childish
    "This isn't high school"
and is ready to give up on the potential relationship and just stay at home
"Better off home on a Saturday night with all my doors locked up tight"

This song is about a boy who likes a girl, but she doesn't like him in return and he feels like he should have known his all along.

Here we see that he likes her:

"Cause I been thinkin' bout you and me girl
and we got somethin' goin' on"

They decide go out but she stands him up:

"You told me you can't wait to see me
and you didn't bother to even show up."

And it is now he realises the truth and decides that its girls like her who keep him from dating in the first place:

    "This whole situations incredibly typical

I shoulda seen it all along
I shoulda seen it all along
I shoulda seen it all along

It's girls like you that make me think I'm better off
    home on a Saturday night
with all my doors locked up tight"

And again when he tries to get close to her she turns him away and he decides that he is fed up with her:

"You call me on the phone
but you don't even wanna talk
you're staring at me from across the room
but you turn your back when I walk up
    we got inches away
and I never even got close
    leave your lipstick at home,
    don't pick up the phone,
don't bother to look in my direction"

And at the end when the chorus is repeated, the line in the background tells the woman just to forget all about him:

"Forget everything you think you know about me."
