Locked Out of Heaven Lyrics
Oh yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah
Never had much faith in love or miracles
Never wanna put my heart on deny
But swimming in your world is something spiritual

I totally agree.
This song feels to me like he's met someone he connects with so much, and because of these intense emotions, he loves to make love to her ~ it's not an act, it's an event. They connect, they can't get enough of each other, and he can't get enough of sharing a piece of heaven with her, whether it be physically or emotionally.
When he compares his feelings for her to other relationships, it feels like he shares heaven with her every time they are together, every time they make love they share something he's never felt before. There is a difference between making love and having "sex". In some dysfunctional relationships, someone punishes the other by denying or controlling sex, or maybe someone feels like the other person doesn't enjoy it and is doing it to fulfill a need or a sense of responsibility. Making love is amazing when you both feel so much for each other ~ there no longer exists a barrier between men and women. Women want to make love just as much as a men.
He's met someone that he connects with and loves to "make love" to. "Making love" to someone, who means so much to you, is the closest to heaven that you can feel...you share a moment in heaven together. You are not embarrassed or inhibited or ever feel like you aren't wanted by the other. You both want, crave and ache to feel each other, please each other, and become as close as you can to one another.
"Never had much faith in love or miracles...Never want to put my heart on the line"...he's been hurt before and doesn't want to hurt again. But he's met someone that he loves so much, that he's willing to let down his guard and what he feels is amazing.
"Swimming in your water is something spiritual"...ahh...the sexual meaning should be obvious :), but even being with her, sharing life, makes him so happy...
"Open up your gates cause I can't wait to see the light"...again, the sexual meaning is obvious :)...but when you think about being vulnerable, completely open with your emotion, and truly loving someone? Open up your gates, is your guard...being vulnerable, open and loving completely.

I heard this song when I was high and it honestly sounds like Satan wrote this song himself, since he was also locked out of heaven and fornication on Earth is his imitation of "Paradise" and since he was the Angel of music now he wants the whole world to have his same fate...listen to the somg again and tell me what Im saying doesnt make sense..along with Pitbull and Christina saying "But until the gates are open, I just wanna feel this moment" wtf!? She really saying until Heavens gates are open Im gonna do whatever the hell I want on Earth..idk about you guys but Im startin to see the big picture as far as music on the radio goes

Don't fall for the catchy tune! do not be deceived. the song is clear: his paradise is with the earth. He wants to just stay here on earth forever and have freedom to have sex and live to please himself. young generations i plead with you not to take this road. do not sucome to the pop generation of music and mindlessly listen to music. Recognize that this song, although very catchy, has a very dark approach to it. Know that there is more than this earth and more than our fleshy desires. Be with our Father in heaven whom loves us enough to freely gives us his kingdom by his son Jesus Christ.

“Never had much faith in love or miracles (miracles) uh!
Never wanna put my heart on the line, uh!”
— He is saying that he has never believed in love before. Referring to romantic love and emotional intimacy. Due to this lack of faith and disbelief he has always been hesitant to let his guards down and fall in love in the past. He begins this song by defining love as a religion.
“But swimming in your water is something spiritual (spiritual) uh!
I'm born again every time you spend the night, uh!”
— In both lines above he is clearly talking about physical/ sexual intimacy. But there is depth to the sexual relationship he shares with the individual he is singing about. This could be a stretch, but.. his reference to water and rebirth is reminiscent of Christian baptism. In the Christianity when an individual joins the faith there is a ceremony that involves water to wash away sin.
Bruno is saying that when he is romantically involved with the individual this song is about, his sins of acting in opposition to love, and sins of disbelief in love(love as a religion) are wiped away because being with her is a form of baptism into new life. The individual he is involved with makes him a believer of love.
“'Cause your sex takes me to paradise
Yeah your sex takes me to paradise
And it shows, yeah, yeah, yeah
'Cause you make me feel like, I've been locked out of heaven
For too long, for too long”
— Sinners are locked out of heaven. To regain access one must repent and be baptized. He’s referring to his “love making” with the individual whom this song is about as a form of baptism. Because his relationship with the individual causes him to firmly believe in love he realizes that when he was “locked out of Heaven” when he didn’t have faith in love.
“You bring me to my knees
You make me testify, uh!
You can make a sinner change his ways, uh!”
— Being sexually and romantically intimate is a way of practicing the religion he defines. He becomes a believer of love when he is sexually intimate with the individual he is singing about, because he considers it an act of love.
“Open up your gates 'cause I can't wait to see the light, uh!
And right there is where I wanna stay, uh!”
— He enjoys making love with the person that this song is about.
He is in love.
“Can I just stay here?
Spend the rest of my days here?”
He wants to spend his life with the person that this song is about. It is a love song, a very sexual love song.

The analogy between earthly desires -sex, and the spiritual side of life is prevalent. Its easy to see the obvious - the lyrics talk about physcial relationships, its failure and success and wanting to keep it good hence the sex and wishing/wanting to stay in this state. But reading through the words you’ll see that there’s more to this than just about earthly desires. Spiritually, you’re locked out of heaven because you chose your earthly desires. Wake up people!

This song is about having sex that takes him to paradise because it feels good and locks him out of heaven because he got dirty with it. The rest of the song is self-explanatory with this mindset and sexual interpretation.

When he says "open up your gates cause I can't wait to see the light" I think it means for his partner to open up her legs. For the light thingimigigor, cum is around white, am I correct? If you look at the rest of the lyrics of this song, you will see it is mostly about making love.

- Basically he was never in love before now he is. He was a player now been with this person is making him think twice about been a sinner. He feels so good about this new love that makes him feel he is now in paradise (in this sense paradise equals heaven) and that before he was locked out of it. Now he is in heaven, love heaven.

i think it's simply about someone who finally found 'the one'.
he used to be happy-go-lucky kinda guy, who pursue some no strings attached 'good time', didn't take relationship seriously.
but after being 'together' with this one girl, he feels a deeper feeling than usual.
'cause you make me feel like, i've been locked out of heaven , for too long'
he thought his usual 'good time' are good, but with her is beyond everything he ever felt before.
it's great, and brings him some kind of happiness.
'can i stay here? spend the rest of my days here?"
the feeling is so intense that it make him seriously consider this girl to be 'the one' that meant for him forever.

I agree with what other people said, but I have a feeling you can also think of the song as a guy who pissed the girl off, so she doesn't want to have sex with him and he wants her aka locked out of heaven...
but you can interpret it any way you want
