Violet Hill Lyrics

Was a long and dark December
From the rooftops I remember
There was snow
White snow

Clearly I remember
From the windows they were watching
While we froze
Down below

When the future's architectured
By a carnival of idiots on...

You have presented a very thoughtful interpretation. You've caught up with the potatoes and ketchup, but you don't know the dish's name.

As I see it, this song is clearly about Freemasons / Luciferians and their control over the world. They're the ones who control world politics and resources. The Freemasons are the architects of New World Order (clearly referred to in this song). N.W.O. Is nothing but a grand design of Lucifer, where one of his re-incarnation / follower (the Anti-Christ) would first be made king, and then declared god. These Freemasons / Luciferians (although termed as fictitous characters by some) don't care about the masses; they're today's so-called elite. And you're absolutely right when you say that 99% of media is biased. Isn't it so?
The fog refers to Lucifer / Devil. Devil has certain unique characteristics of dodging and confusing humans, his foremost enemy. Satan or his followers (the spirits) are referred to as fog.
You'd understand it in a better light if you watch "The Arrivals" at www.wakeupproject.com. It's a long and tiresome series, but very interesting. Once you watch this series, you'd understand many things going around us.

Well, as professors would say, its obvious youwe been working on it! There are some good tips, facts mostly, but I believe youwe missed the essence.

Yes there is a war story in this song, but only as a metaphor, as a way to tell the story which has nothing to do with war itself. This song could be interpreted by one sentence only: There is so much evil in this world, so if you love me, won't you let me know!

As: don't let yourself go into this (and "this" is what youwe said, war, media, church when its controled for evil purposes, all the bad things on "that side" which we all know about, as we are "on this side"), but let me know if you love me, save me, lets save ourselves... Because love is the only answer indeed. Lets not lose time, lets be opened for love... Ok? Because we are all humans and changing sides could happen in a blink... Dont let me go there...

Why? Because: I took my love down to Viollet hill, than we sat in the snow, all that time she was silent still, so, if you love me, won't you let me know...

Wonderfull, couldnt belive Chris Martin did that with ending when I heard this song for the first time.

He lost her, and now he know what went wrong... He took her to a Violet hill, and its cold there you know... Snow is a metaphor for cold. And cold is a metaphor for the lack of love. But he does still believe in love...

Maybe there is a father story also, but I believe that's a metaphor also.

Thats what I think, sorry for my bas english...

    Thanks.

yes that is a good interpretation, but I think you go to deep into the meaning. Remember, the song is an antiwar song about a place called violet hill in hong kong in December. There was a huge ww2 battle their. And when he talks about his love I think he means his country.

    cool interp but one problem:
the lyrics aren't 'a love back home it unfolds', they're 'my nerves are poles that unfroze'.
I asked on the coldplay website and thats what they said
