The song is about a groupie that follows the band around on tour..... I think that part is kind of obvious.

"Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band

    and
"Lay me down in sheets of linen"

Both make me think of Yoko Ono. The first part seems like a physical description of her and the "linen" part almost sounds like Lennon, and the thought of Yoko and John in bed announcing their dreams about peace and whatnot. I dunno... haha, it's dumb, but that part has always just made me think of them.

Anyway, it's a beautiful song. It reminds me of my best friend who he moved away not too long ago. Elton is so cool.
