   this song is about the summer fling pete wentz had with mikey way (my chemical romance) in 2005. on the fourth of july the two were reported to be holding hands, and even kissing.

   I think this song is about relationships becoming full-fledged before they are ready. Jumping into something you're not ready for.
   
   "You and I were fire, fire, fireworks that went off to soon"
   They thought they were good, but they practically ran to the idea of being a couple, you know, couple stuff.
   
   "I said I'd never miss you"
   When they realized that they weren't right for each other, (I think this ties into the next line)they burned their bridge.
   
   "May the bridges I have burned light my way back home on the fourth of July"
   He went to far, and is trying to find his way back to himself, then he'll try a relationship again.
   
   "You were my Versailles at night"
   Versailles is a palace in France. I think he's saying that she was his everything. She was what he always wanted.
   
   "My 9 to 5 is cutting open old scars"
   I think he's referring to time. From 9pm to 5am he's at it again, and remembering his time with her and the pain.
   
   "I wish I'd known how much you loved me"
   Even though it seems like they weren't right for each other, she still loved him.
   
   Overall, I think this song is a story about a man and a woman who fell in love, but weren't right for each other. Even so, they were like drugs to each other, making come back for more. More pain.

   This song is about a couple that wasn’t meant to be as if saying it was the Fourth of July that the guy asked if she wanted to be with him in a relationship as saying we went off too soon that maybe he should’ve waited a bit longer to ask her to be with him they were friends and had tons of memories and now he is starting to forget the good times and He wanted her to be with because he was getting lonely that’s what I think of this song
