Fully Alive Lyrics

Telling Layla's story spoken
'Bout how all her bones are broken
Hammers fall on all the pieces
Two months in the cover creases

Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in...

This song is about how a girl has gone through the pressures of life but still remained positive and strong. In the acoustic version Lacey changed the very last verse of the song saying "Fully alive and she knows how to believe in Jesus (instead of "futures"). After hearing the acoustic version it really spoke to me, this woman overcame her trials and hardships through the strength that God gave her.

"It's about the singer for Trust Company, Kevin (Palmer), his wife Layla. She's an awesome person, and you would never guess in a million years that she has the struggle that she has. Kinda changed my perspective about the way that I complain about things, the way that I wake up sad for no reason, and then she wakes up just glad to wake up." -Lacey

This song is about trust company vocalist kevin palmer's wife, layla. Flyleaf went on tour with trust company a while back at a time when layla was really sick, and those times when she could get out of bed she was always smiling, she always seemed happy about the little things most people take for granted every day. Lacey and pat said they really inspired her.

I think it's a warning to live your life as it's meant to be: an odyssey.

Serving God isn't easy as doing daily rituals or jumping up-and-down 5 times a day, but eagerly going through hardships which purifies the believers, it takes patience and gratitude.

I picked this up from Sam Gerrans, and I'm thankful God guiding me to this information.

People who think it's okay to above their beliefs down other people's throats shouldn't be allowed to listen to such incredible music. There are many religions that predate Christianity and don't contain even half of the contradictions that Christianity itself does.
However, I am so glad for the message that this song sends. Music dealing with the Christian faith tends to be really beautiful, and this is no exception.

I think this song means much more than we think. I think it's about telling us to stop feeling bad for ourselves and thinking our lives are such a pity when really if you wake up and smell the roses and see other people have it 10 times worse than you do!!!!!

Oh my God! Thank you Flyleaf. The character is not a girl. It's The Statue of Liberty in New York. The song commemorates our lost. WE ARE FULLY ALIVE In Christ, the artist proclaims.

    Thanks and blessings!

A song of inspiration from Lacey's realization of a hurt soul who does nothing but praises God for everything he does and does not do in each part of her life. This girl's name is Layla and she is fully alive. The song starts with saying how Layla has suffered from a terrible past that includes a horrible accident. Layla, however, stands strong today in a god shining way. She is always smiling and grateful of her life. This girl makes Lacey feel small as her complaints seem like nothing, and all her somethings that hinder her. Layla is just happy for being alive one more day and only looks at a bright future

It's about a girl who goes through so much crap in the world snd how she is able to be happy with whatever God gives her. Everybody wrote something simmilar, I know. After I listened to this song it made me rethink how someone always has it worse and how WE should ALL be thankfull for just being alive and given another day to live on Earth.

It's about the innate ability of strong Christians to be joyous in the face of sadness and pain due to the thought of eternal happiness.

Idk, but about the lyrics "about how all her bones were broken" might not mean that "layla"'s bones are really physically broken.
Before someone can learn to be humble and joyful no matter the circumstance, they need God's help to first crush their pride, though it may hurt, but the 'layla' girl who Lacey shared could be so joyful from the inside out might have gone through something like this......:)

my interpretation of this song id simple; it is about a girl who has suffered her whole life and doesn't like to think about the bad things happenning so she waits for something that makes her smile. "all my complaints shrink to nothing" lacey is trying to say that compared to layla's life her complaints are like a dream come true for layla. infact this song reminds me alotttttt of me. butt what has been done is done and you know were all here for a reason and if you have made it through alot of bad stuf then you are stronger than you think. alot of people take life for granted. yeh i have severe depression but i'm glad i have it. i'm not dead. i'm fighting death it wants me.

Lacey has had many problems in the past. One of them being drugs. This song is about how this girl layla's life is so terrible but she found God now she is fully alive. Finding joy in Christ means being alive for Him no matter the circumstances. So lacey is saying that this girl is fully alive. Fully living for God not based on all the bad things that has happened to her. With God she can move on.

im pretty sure that this girl they're singing about had some kind of life threatening condition and was in the hospital. she then started to appreciate life for the little things and was able to smile through all of her suffering.
