Found a man reported missing,
He wandered in his home.
It don't seem to bad if you consider

This song is about a family man who disappeared without a trace for a while, then returned safe and sound to his family.

Where was he all that time? Well, believe it or not, he was taken by friendly aliens to an amazing, wonderful world where there's no pain, suffering, hatred, fear or war. A world where everyone is happy!

But when the aliens returned him to Earth, what did he tell his family? What did he tell the police? Well, he lied to them. He told them that he'd been kidnapped by robbers and held for ransom, but that the robbers let him go free once they realized he wasn't rich.

The man didn't WANT to lie- he wanted to tell everyone about the miraculous, beautiful world he'd seen. But he knew how crazy that would sound, and that NOBODY would believe him. So, instead of telling a bright, happy, wonderful truth that he knew nobody would believe, he told a dark, ugly lie that he knew EVERYONE would believe.
