Katy Perry: Firework Meaning
Song Released: 2009
drifting through the wind
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
like a house of cards,
one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no...

Fireworks is a very beautiful song that has a very powerful meaning. This song talks about revealing your true self to the world instead of keeping it a secret. It tells us not to be afraid of what we have and who we really are but to be proud of it. The artist is trying to say that we should not be afraid to express who you really are in the inside, and not letting your flaws stop you from having a great life. Fireworks is basically about pride in one’s self and letting your “true colors” show- without worrying about what other people think of you. In other words, the song is basically telling us to be who we are and not what others want us to be. It is also is telling us to embrace our flaws- because they are what makes each one of us unique. We should also be proud of ourselves and stay motivated enough to reach our goals without letting anybody or anything stop us. I also think this song is about living your life like there's no tomorrow, even if you feel like giving up. She is saying that there is always a way to make your way back up, even if you've sunk to the bottom. "You don't have to feel like a wasted space, your original cannot be replaced.” You are your own person, and that person is amazing is their own way. Everything has its reason for being. Throughout the whole song, Katy is trying to comfort us by saying ‘you don’t have to feel like a waste of space, you’re original cannot be replaced’ and this makes an individual feel like there is someone in the world who cares about them and they are consoling them. In the song she says “come on let your colours burst” what she means by this is that we should be our true colours or in other words be our true self and learn to appreciate yourself as you are. Similarly, she is trying to remind us of the light we have within us. No matter if we are old or young, sick or well we should let it sparkle today and let it shine. Moreover, she is trying to show us that we don’t have try to fit in, because we are all individuals and shine on our own, be who you are and be proud of it. Hence, the powerful meaning to this song is one reason why this is a great song.

I think that this song was mainly targeted at anyone that has low self-esteem. The message in the song is very strong and meaningful. This means that everyone is beautiful in there own way and shouldn't think differently about themselves because of that person that try to put them down and ruin their self-esteem. It means that you should never give up on what you like and love to do. You are perfect and you are the best in the whole wide world and never forget that !!! :):):):):):):):):):):):)

Fireworks is about how you shouldn't be silent on what you feel or how you feel. You should be yourself and never change for anyone. Let yourself go into the things you like to do

My interpretation on this is that the song is trying to tell us to be yourself, and not to care about what others think of you. You are unique, and even though you have flaws, they are what make you YOU. Embrace your flaws, and your true colors will show, just like the song says.

I think it means that even if your father tells you that margaritas are homosexual, you still be yourself and drink them. Now a days there is so much pressure to be the Dictator, and often, "Feeling like a plastic bag" is felt more frequently. This song gives all hope that we will "Start Again". This song is for all of us who "drift in the wind", because you have to ignite the light, and let it shine. Just own the night, like the 4th of July.

I think that the song is telling you to be yourself no matter what happens. It dosen't matter what others think about you. In other words you only live once, so don't waste it worrying about what others think about you.

Firework by Katy Perry is a powerful song that is also very meaningful, the song talks about not keeping secrets but to reveling them to the world and not to be afraid of what happens, it also uses poetic devices very well to concrete its meaning, this song is a very inspirational. Let me explain, the song is talking about life getting better overcoming fears and obstacles in life also to believe in people and yourself, another part of the theme of the song are gays, people that are bullied, lesbians and people with disabilities as you see in the video clip. Thanks.

This song is so amazing. If I wouldve never heard it I wouldnt be writing this right now, I dont know where I would be. Its funny how music works, its like an escape from everything but then one day one song just changes your life. Im going into Junior year of high school and ever since I was in 3rd grade I was never able to express myself. I was the, "shy girl" and I didnt wanna be that. For years I had no friends up until the end of 8th grade I heard this song and it spoke to me like no song had ever done before, "baby you're a firework, come on let your colors burst, make em go oh oh oh", this song basically said, girl, be yourself! If you go through high school shy again nobody will ever know you and you will never enjoy anything, and I was so nervous but all it took was this song to make me open up like the crazy person I am, and now I have friends and an amazing boyfriend I couldnt be happier, listen to this song because it will change your life, if you're having trouble being yourself or finding who you are, may this song speak to you like it did to me, cause remember, "your original cannot be replaced, if you only knew what the future holds", high school is just a small 4 year slot of your life but its something youre gonna remember til the day you die, so dont live it as a fake person, be yourself, you never know what it does for you:) thanks Katy Perry, you changed my life. Music doesnt just run in the head, nor the heart, music runs in the soul.
