Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
drifting through the wind
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
like a house of cards,
one blow from caving in?

Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no...

Fireworks is a very beautiful song that has a very powerful meaning. This song talks about revealing your true self to the world instead of keeping it a secret. It tells us not to be afraid of what we have and who we really are but to be proud of it. The artist is trying to say that we should not be afraid to express who you really are in the inside, and not letting your flaws stop you from having a great life. Fireworks is basically about pride in one’s self and letting your “true colors” show- without worrying about what other people think of you. In other words, the song is basically telling us to be who we are and not what others want us to be. It is also is telling us to embrace our flaws- because they are what makes each one of us unique. We should also be proud of ourselves and stay motivated enough to reach our goals without letting anybody or anything stop us. I also think this song is about living your life like there's no tomorrow, even if you feel like giving up. She is saying that there is always a way to make your way back up, even if you've sunk to the bottom. "You don't have to feel like a wasted space, your original cannot be replaced.” You are your own person, and that person is amazing is their own way. Everything has its reason for being. Throughout the whole song, Katy is trying to comfort us by saying ‘you don’t have to feel like a waste of space, you’re original cannot be replaced’ and this makes an individual feel like there is someone in the world who cares about them and they are consoling them. In the song she says “come on let your colours burst” what she means by this is that we should be our true colours or in other words be our true self and learn to appreciate yourself as you are. Similarly, she is trying to remind us of the light we have within us. No matter if we are old or young, sick or well we should let it sparkle today and let it shine. Moreover, she is trying to show us that we don’t have try to fit in, because we are all individuals and shine on our own, be who you are and be proud of it. Hence, the powerful meaning to this song is one reason why this is a great song.

This lovely song means that if you feel unwanted, unappreciated invisible you shouldn't feel sad instead show the world what you got cause we all are like fireworks we're full of light and we should make those who saddened us surprised by showing off you're power of brightness and light to them like a firework. This song shows how related we are to a firework when we stand up to those who are making you sad

Did anyone notice that this song is at the end of Wreck-It Ralph? Do you ever feel like a plastic bag Drifting through the wind wanting to start again? Do you ever feel, feel so paper-thin Like a house of cards one blow from caving in? Do you ever feel already buried deep? Six feet under screams, but no one seems to hear a thing Do you know that there's still a chance for you? 'Cause there's a spark in you.

You just gotta ignite the light And let it shine Just own the night Like the Fourth of July 'Cause baby, you're a firework C'mon, show 'em what you're worth Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah" As you shoot across the sky-y-y Baby, you're a firework C'mon, let your colors burst Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah" You're gonna leave them all in awe, awe, awe.

You don't have to feel like a waste of space You're original, cannot be replaced If you only knew what the future holds After a hurricane comes a rainbow Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow And when it's time, you'll know.

Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon It's always been inside of you, you, you And now it's time to let it through.

'Cause baby, you're a firework C'mon, show 'em what you're worth Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah" As you shoot across the sky-y-y Baby, you're a firework C'mon, let your colors burst Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah" You're gonna leave them all in awe, awe, awe.

Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon.

anyways have a great day, goodbye

This glorious piece of 'art' is in fact about being so goddamn turned on, some weird shit comes out your va-ja-jay or as the kids call it these days, an orgasm.

Allow me to provide some evidence. Miss Perry (not related to the old British tennis play Fred Perry despite them both being rather fond of balls) is 'one blow from caving in' which as euphemism is about as subtle as the time I held a book to my crotch to avoid showing the new 97-year-old librarian just how attractive I found her mother.

The big oblong (or the penis as the kids call it these days) is hard at work, or as Katy describes it 'buried deep... six feet under.' However the song reaches its dramatic climax as Perry fears her sexually ambiguous fat neighbor will not hear her orgasm (the only reason she is having sex in the first place.)

If you can't work out how the chorus is about sex, you're a fucking idiot and there is not still a chance for you, even if you ignite the light and let it shine (SHHHHHHIIINNNNEEEE)

Onto the second verse then and there is only one line truly worthy of my precious time. Kate says something about a rainbow and a hurricane an obvious analogy to the ERUPTION of Hurricane Clitrina that is about to occur. She also gives young women yet to experience the joy of well you know (let's not be too blunt, there are kids reading this) that when the time CUMS (fun fact - Katy Perry wrote the Inbetweeners. And then rode them. All four of them. At the same time. It was hot) they will know exactly what to do, which in my admittedly limited experience is not true at all.

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM ... *winky face*

Kit-Kat ends the song by making them go 'aah, aah, aah.' Nice one lass. Now I'm off to take a break.

To summarise, this song is about being yourself. Sexually. The END.

I think this is an excellent song and explains what it would be like to be a plastic bag and be around for thousands of years.

    She's basically saying "Be yourself!"
I have so much trouble doing that because last year, in sixth grade, I went to a new school and I was terrified to be not only new, but new in the last year of elementary school! We were going into middle school and high school! I felt like nobody would understand me. I was the shy new girl. All my life I had no trouble expressing myself, I put myself out into the world, I told the truth 99% of the time, and I was friends with everyone! I never stopped talking! When I went to my new school, it's as if something inside me snapped. I suddenly started worrying about what everyone thought of me. I shut down on myself. I slowly changed. I was scared of talking in front of large groups of people. I wasn't really friends with too many people. If it wasn't for these other three girls that immediately befriended me, I would've been alone. Earlier today (28-10-17, 10:04 AM) I remembered this song. I pretty much grew up listening to it, along with songs like The House That Built Me and The Story Of Us. Anyway, I listened mentally to it (I pretty much memorized it) and realized I had completely changed myself to please others. I was letting other get the best of me and hope they didn't judge me. I constantly try to look confident, which is why I'm such a good actress at age 12. My parents can't tell I lie 99% of the time now. Around home I'm loud and confident, and around my friends too. Around people I don't know, though, I'm more shy and insecure. I've become introverted and prefer staying away from other people perhaps in my bed watching movies and playing video games. Anyway, that's my story and when I found this website, I felt the need to say "This is what happened to me because I wasn't myself." Listen to this song and just be yourself. I would give anything to go back to before I changed. This song helps me remember to try sometimes to change back to my outgoing, fun, loud self that makes appearances more and more often nowadays. Hopefully my introverted self gives in more often.

When i heard this song,i've already think that this song emphasized we need to be honest to our life.We need to be in our self because we have each other uniqueness and deep sense of appreciation in our common humanity. We are individuals with intrinsic self worth. Moreover, this song trying to express that we need to show our 'true colors'.We must know that we are sister and brothers inhabiting the planet earth.Way back when I'm in elementary,I'm trying to ask myself what is my gender reference? So I forward to what make me happy which is 'gay'.Dont be afraid to show who you are because you're only the one who knows everything within yourself.

think this song is based on when you are going through hard times and that you should always believe in yourself. Also never giving up. Also I think it could also be about when there is always a to make yourself up to the top and happy times, even when you have sunk to the bottom or are going through sad times.

I think this song is about comparing humans to fireworks. And if you listen to the lyrics... it sounds like she believes the Chinese are taking over the world. I know I'm not the only one with this view... there are hundreds of articles on the topic and Katy Perry wanted to show her support through this song to raise awareness. Spread the truth.
