Brown Eyes Lyrics
In your brown eyes, couldn't stay
In your brown eyes, you watch her go
And turn the record on
And wonder what went wrong
What went wrong
If everything was everything
But everything is over

I believe the song is about unrequited love. I guess she means that they can't be together because of circumstances they couldn't control.so if they were older they could've been toghether.

I think this song is about a boyfriend who ripped her heart out (possibly Luc Carl?). You haven't heard the true meaning of the song until you've seen her perform it at the monsterball (and I wasn't even there in person :() she ends the song with "you mother f*cker and your bullsh*t brown eyes!"

It's about Ronnie Vannucci, the drummer from The Killers.
"I wanna thank my baby RONNIE Vannucci for always being there for me and supporting. I wrote the song Brown Eyes for him. He has a lovely wife Lisa.... LOVE YOU LIS'! We are amazing friends, and Ron is a fab musician! He's doing great. Love you Ron."

I think this song is about once the fairytale ended. How someone still loves someone very much and that they need them but they simply can do nothing because you just can't because to him your story is done. When she talks about "seeing her face" it means that she really can't love him because he loves someone else and it's a waste for her to be there. She wants the song to play because it reminds her when she thought his love would never end. The end part is when shes probably at tears and thinking she really has no hope the "last show" I believe is a way of saying I promise you'll never see my love again.
