   This is obviously about an abusive relationship. She sings about how she cries in her bedroom and won't let him in (could also refer to opening up to him) and she is often giving a vibe of insecurity and self doubt ("loving me is like straightening curls) which can be caused by said abusive relationship. This is clearly not about sex. "I like it rough" is intended on an emotional level.

   The recording artist is teaching children that the only way to succeed is to be a bully asshole. Typical entertainment industry propaganda. Because in Hollywood it's true that is the only way to make it. Today, Hollywood. Tomorrow, the world. It is because of crap like this that we have 5 year olds saying "Get a life, loser." I figure the species has about one decade maximum left before it completely destroys itself, thanks to these fashionable bullies in Hollywood. I say that as a person who was born/raised in Hollywood. Say "no" to Hollywood & other pro-active capitalists (re: business bullies) or expect the species to be gone by one decade from now. Probably sooner.

   This song isn't about sex at all. It is a song about someone who feels like they are difficult to love, and when someone finally is willing to go the length, she questions if "he means it" and isnt willing to let him in. However, she starts questioning why she is so guarded in the first place.

   Possibly Gaga is using sex as a metaphor for life. Maybe "the road of life" with the man she loves has not always been smooth and peaceful. She could have experienced bumps, potholes, sharp curves, detours, "abortion", ditches, bands of rancid gypsies, "delusions", burning buildings, flat tires, abuse, a type of washboard terrain, divorces, really steep hills, death, "addiction", roadkill, wars, "incest", a spot of pain, hurricanes, cliffs, low-flying nazi jackal buzzards, tollbooths, etc, etc. These things can occur in any one of our lives. As we make our way past these things they slowly fade to the corner of our working eye. Often we rubber-neck to look again and blurt, "What was THAT? Splattered moist bovine entrails or the past several years?" Gaga is saying that she doesn't need everything to be "perfect" with her man all of the time. She LIKES it exciting.

   My grandmother (named gaga) was sweet and adorable, 5'2" and 89 pounds soaking wet. My grandfather (named lady) was 6'5", big boned and deafer than dirt. When I was a kid, each time we went over to their house, all I could think of was how in the world they had sex. With one swift move my granpa could have broken my grandma into quarters. While we sat with them and had ice tea, my mind was up in their bedroom, running through the scene. If during the act she had whispered into his navel, "oooh big lady, do that again" he'd bellow "WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR A GOD DAMNED WORD YOU ARE SAYING." She'd try again sweetly, "Oh yeah, that felt sooo good" and he'd holler "Oh for GOD'S SAKE gaga SPEAK UP!" My 14 year old head deduced that my grandparents could only have successfully fornicated with a bullhorn. That's rough sex.
   
   Maybe fornicate is the wrong word.
