Linkin Park: Runaway Meaning
Under a sky of dust
A constant wave of tension
On top of broken trust
The lessons that you taught me
I learn were never true
Now I find myself in question
(They point the finger at me again)
I thought this was a song about a stressful parent-child relationship, and that the child couldnt wait to leave home but your explanation makes the same, if not more sense... thats the great thing about a lot of linkin park songs is that they can mean different things to different people...

Friends who act "fake" around each other candy coat their false relationship even though an immense hate lies beneath their cover. Both parties realize the other is fake to them because they questioned whether the other person actually liked them due to the original hate. After the discovery, both parties want to just break off the relationship and not have to deal with it.
However, you cant just break off a relationship, so you are forced together through mutual company and tensions just build to the point where you need to escape.
another song which show the reason why Linkin Park have so many fans.
The way l see it it's about Friends or loved ones who are not real to you. Who only use you for their own good.
And that's why you feel like running away's the only option. Believe me l know the feeling.

This song is about Chester. That is at least what I think. When Chester was a child, he was sexually abused by an older friend. He felt the urge to kill and run away because he was so affected by the situation. The title of the song relates to his childhood.

I think its about someone lying to you that youve trusted and you believed those lies to find out those lies, and like a friend spreading roomers you want to know what rooners they've spreaded so you wanna runaway and find the truth or runaway from that person and never say goodbye. I based this on what happend to me in 5th grade, there was more , but this fits the song.

This song reminds me of me and my mom. She calls the cops on me when I get angry and I was hospitalized and when I came back I did EVERYTHING to behave. And she kept provoking me to the point where she resorted to destroying my room and I called the cops on her instead of raging, and STILL she made me look like the bad guy. She's just taking out her feeling of her father onto me now that he passed. This was random to day but It justade me feel better.

Could be a dig at Religion, and how people are taught that their respective scriptures are true, and some later discover that they are not. Those people (atheists or religious converts) are then accused of all the bad (usually false) actions of their new religion (or lack thereof). Sometimes it can get so bad that one may feel the need to run away from this persecution.

This song is the follow-up to Crawling. It's about escaping someone who is torturing them. They then speak of opening their mind to see what the outside world is like, and not the protective barrier that the someone else mentioned has erected. Not much of Mike, unfortunately., but Chester makes up for it, screaming:
'I wanna run away
Never say goodbye
I wanna know the truth
Instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers
No more lies
I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind '
Such lyrics could only come from Linkin Park.
