Wherever I May Roam Lyrics

...and the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her I do confide
And she keeps me satisfied
Gives me all I need

...and with dust in throat I crave
Only knowledge will I save
To the game you stay a slave
Rover...

This song is NOT about drugs!
    Rover, wanderer, nomad, vagabond,
REFER TO THE FACT THAT HE IS ALL OF THESE.
    call me what you will.
He doesn't care what anyone thinks. There is absolutley no drug reference in this song.

it's about a man who desires solitude. But he is not always alone. He is a free spirit who wishes nothing more than to wander. Answering to no one. Like a nomad king. the last part merely states that even if he dies, he wishes to roam freely like the wanderer he has described.

I always thought this song was about immigration and how this is our world, we should be able to roam/live wherever we want.

Or possibly about someone who is now homeless and has no where to go anymore.

But thinking about it the Metallica travelling like a band meaning makes a lot more sense.

It's about a man (or woman) who is dead but sill roaming this world

The line "Carved upon my stone, my body lies but still i roam" proves that he/she is dead and the rest of the song states the the protagonist roams, it is that simple.

Actually it is about ghosts I was thinking about the song whrn I thought about what carved upon my ston meant, but then I realized tha the nexr lime was actually what was carved upon his tombstone

It certainly isn't about drugs or ghosts, watch the video, it's about touring on the road, "where ever I may roam"

Losing yourself in drugs and experiencing as many drugs as possible.
