I Never Told You What I Do For A Living Lyrics

Stay out of the light or the photograph that I gave you
You can say a prayer if you need to
Or just get in line and I'll grieve you

Can I meet you alone?
Another night and I'll see you
Another night and I'll be you
Some other way to...

I agree with the very first theory. It explains the whole "this is the story of a man and a woman and the corpse of a thousand evil men" on the booklet.
    But that's just my opinion

Ok so you're right about the woman dying and the claiming a thousand souls thing, but it is the last song, and I think that it's about the guy failing to claim the souls because he gets caught and sentanced to death. Hes begging for "one more night" to try and claim the souls.

He also talks to her about meeting her in hell, "and down we go" or "another night and I'll see you"

this song is pretty sad even tho it's about a murderer. Maybe I just feel bad because gee is the one singing it.

I think the whole 1000 soul thing is right, but this song, because it's the last one on the album, is about her finding out what he did.

I dunno, for some reason I really don't think that the song would be about him dying and going to hell while she goes to heaven...
Now this is my opinion, so don't bite my head off...
It kind of sounds like he's sinned in some way(the kind of dirty where the water never cleans off the clothes, I can't clean the blood off the sheets in my bed). And then in the end, it seems like him and the girl are FINALLY together, but they both end up dying. Like when he says "I tried, one more night, one more night", it sounds like he was trying to be with her for one more night. What suggests that they both die is him saying "they gave us two shots to the back of the head and we're all dead now"....which is really sad, but then he's saying "it's better off this way so much better off this way" because they can both be together in heaven now(obviously he's paid off his debt to the devil)!!!! Ok....that's all....so the song is really sad...yet happy!! =D

I think the whole album is about a man and a woman dying in a cemetary because in "cemetary drive" they are found dead and the guy suffers when he and his lover are separated between the two worlds heaven and hell. He has to kill and capture 1000 souls to be with his lover again!

I'm not sure if I'm right, but here's what I think: I think it is about a man who is killing people and stealing there identities"Another night and I'll see you,
Another night and I'll be you,
    Some other way to continue,
To hide my face!"... and he says he tried I think he is saying he tried to change and stop killing people but once again he does it the next night and he just keeps telling himself just one more night...but he was lying to himself...then in the end he gets killed and he sayd its better off that way...and everyone he's killed and even himself will be happy and love again once more in their death.

I think its talking about mass murderers. In an interview Gerard said he is fascinated my them, not tat he looks up to them or anything, just finds them interesting. So I figured it's about murder of some kind. "a stain that never comes of the sheets" refers to bloodstains...well that's what I think lol.

No offense, but how can that be when it's the last song on the album?

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song talks about a man and a woman that die in a gun fight and the woman goes to heaven and the man goes to hell. So then he makes a deal with the devil and the man has to go and capture the souls of a 1000 evil men in order to be with her again.
