Animals Lyrics

I, I'm driving black on black
Just got my license back
I got this feeling in my veins this train is coming off the track
I'll ask polite if the devil needs a ride
Because the angel on my right ain't hanging out with me tonight
I'm driving...

I absolutely thrive on this song. It's about, of course, two teenage lovers doing what teens do best--get in trouble, be rebellious, and experiment with each other's hormones. There is nothing disgusting with this song!! (To those of you who think so, you have a right to your opinion) No one can say that they don't want to hear the loud rumble of a hot rod beating against the gravel with your babe by your side, giving you those fiery eyes and dangerous smirk. IT's exciting!! You're only a teenager once! Obviously, Chad Kroeger knew that, and decided to touch up on the subject. I don't know about anyone else, but this song is fun and makes me wanna wave my hair in circles only to get whiplash the next morning.

I love this song, disgusting or not. I agree with the first submission... Just teenagers being rebellious, doing naughty things in the car. <3

Very cool song. It's all about sex, which is what rock n' roll is all about. Understand the origin of the term? "Rock" and "roll" is a literal description movements involved in the sex act. "Animals" is one of the few songs to take rock back to these roots--anyone who disagrees should stay away from rock. Like it or not, this is the real deal.

um......first of all, if you're writing comments that are bitching about the song, you have no reason to comment at all. second, dont act like youre all fuckin high and mighty.....third, this is an awesome song and yes, its kinda perverted, but its just as bad as all that rap shit thats out there. at least nickelback dont hide what he thinks.....its "'bam!' in your face" about it, to quote someone else :)

For the longest time I was really confused about the first line because I thought they said, "I'm driving like I'm black,"

this is a dirty but epic song. Its so different to all the crap that gets out there these days. its one of those songs which doesnt have the hidden 'dirtyness'. its "bam!" in your face. these days, so much crap out there is about girls not knowing that they are beautiful and crap like that. Dont know about other gals, but this song relates to me and makes me feel much more special than most other shit out there. And anyway, if you dont like the lyrics, ya gotta admit, those riffs are fucking legend!!

    I think its kinda clear,
Two young people who think there in love screwin around and get caught. She's prbly a good girl who thinks she can change a guy and thinks they'll end up together forever. It's cute <3

Chad has said before that this song like several other songs that he has written is autobiographal. The part that he mentions about her dad being outside the car, he claims that this actually happened to his mom and dad. But how can you hate on this song it's an amazing song that every teenager can relate to.

It's not about cheating! The "Angel" and "Devil" are the good thoughts and the bad thoughts.

He means they aren't going to be good tonight :)

For all you people out there who can't hear or read it's not about a guy and his girlfriend.

(I'll ask polite if the devil needs a ride
Because the angel on my right ain't hanging out with me tonight)

"The angel on my right" is his girlfriend and the devil is the girl he is cheating on her with.

This song is about 2 teenagers doing what most of us did at some point in their teenage years. It's about young hormones, passion, and rebellion. Not all of our fathers caught us, but I think at least 70% of you can relate to the subject. And btw, I dont see anything disgusting with this song. Sex is something that just about everyone will do at least once in their lifetime and theres nothing dirty about it.

To those of you who honestly believe there is nothing obscene about this song, I suggest you look again at the lyrics. Here are some of the naughtier lines:

"This train is comin' off the track."
"Parts of you that I've been kissing"
"Just how hard you wanna squeeze"
"You got both hands on my gears"
"I guess nobody ever taught her not to speak with a full mouth." (Eww...)
"It felt so good I almost drove into the ditch."
    "We just started getting busy"

Need I provide any more examples? I can't say I'm opposed to the song, since I've never actually heard it before, but I think it's clear what the meaning is.

It is definitely about a young man sneaking his younger girlfriend out of her house with her parents not knowing. but in the chorus you can tell that he is sort of pressuring her into getting into the car with him. When she actually does he takes her out by the tracks, not knowing that it was a place where her parents could find her. He couldn't find the keys to get out in time and probably got his ass kicked from the girls father after wards. That is what I think of the song and I'm pretty sure that is what it means.
