   I think pills and potions is about someone who did somthing to you that hurt you. And you tried to give them advice they didn't follow and they did somthing hateful but instead of taking the anger out on the person you take pills to hide the pain

   I don't know if its about drugs. I see it as something bad happening to someone she obviously loves there's a lot of commotion and people saying he/she is bad. She loves them to much to let others change the way she feels. "In due time we'll be fine, I still love". I guess like others have said that is real love.

   The lyrics mean that despite the fact that the person that she loved did something (untasteful) bad, although she will never be able to live with that person again or have them so entwined in her life, she'll always love them because there will always be that part that will love them. Even though they did something bad and she cannot be in their life anymore.
   (Nicki mentioned something similar in an interview)

   My interpretation of this song is that though things are difficult and whoever Nicki is talking about may be feeling the pressure of life so they drink and do drugs as a coping mechanism. Even though she may be mad at him, she can't ignore the fact that they had something special and she misses the good times they had, so she (Nicki) does pops pills so she doesn't have to feel the pain either.

    This song means a lot. It's trying to say that no matter how angry or how much pain there is inside of you, love outstands everything. Love is everywhere and inside you. Love never leaves you no matter what. Pills an potions mean doing drugs. You use drugs to forget about the past and ignore the hate. But love conquers all.

    “Pills and potions” stand for all the different ways we medicate ourselves — whether it’s literal medicine, illicit drugs and alcohol, or just any coping mechanism on an emotional level. It’s something we cling to when we’ve been wronged by those who love us, something we get high on to forget the pain and anger.
    
    But in the end, love transcends all of that. Love continues to exist past the hurt and past the O.D. of pills and potions we use to mask it.
