This is a song that demonstrates a woman losing her memories to Alzheimer's Disease. The struggles affect her husband, so he is constantly trying to make her understand that it's okay & he's there for her. She says to him "Just let me go we'll meet again soon." She is saying this because she knows that she will soon lose her memory for good and forget who he is altogether, so she wants him to know that they will meet again one day.

I'm sorry guys..not what you think. This is a paedophile. She hears creaks because it announces his arrival. May be in an orphange...he protects her. The "screams all sound the same" because nobody answers them. Adults don't always take children seriously.."don't listen to a word I say"... as kids they wanted "a ship to carry us, bodies away from shore"....they were hurt, dreaming of better...
Not certain...but would guess band wasn't original artist....or if it is...that person has come to grips and done well...

Also, when it mentions "the ship will carry our bodies safe to shore", I think the ship is supposed to be life, and they will get out of this safely, and together, because the shore is like the end or heaven.

I always thought this song was about the girls mental illness. I thought she suffered from schizophrenia, which is when there is a voice in your head (kinda like a conscience) that tells you what to do, but not usually a good deed. She was saying there's a voice in her head that's holding her back, and he says to tell her that he misses the times when he could talk to her, without the voice making her second-guess him. That is what I interpret this song as, but I believe that it's one of those songs in which it was made to be left open and puzzle it's listeners.

I think the song can be interpreted in different ways (purposely by the band). To me it speaks on the memory of a women still in love. Seeing as young could simply represent an earlier time, and does not have to literally mean a decade ago. She could just be miserable without her partner, dreaming of what they once had. Only to want it to end in either in acceptance or suicide.

I think this song is about a girl hurting herself. When she says"somedays I can't even trust myself" I think she means she can't bare living so she feels like she needs to die. When the guy says"I can't bare to see you this way" he is telling her she is beautiful and he doesn't like to watch her suffer. "Though the truth may vary this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore" means if she kills herself shell be happier and she will be safe "the screams all sound the same" is she screams for the same reason. I thought this cause of my experience with self harm so thnx for reading this(I guess)

This may seem a little far-fetched, but this is my interpretation:
A woman used to live in this house when she was younger and her father died when she was young and she was really close to him. Her mother couldn't live with the burden of the house, so they moved away. When the woman grew up and got married, her new family moved back into this house and she is seeing and hearing her father's "ghost" in the house.
Everyone else's interpretations seem very legit and i could see this song being about any of them. ♥ -
I beloved this songs meaning is the story of romio and juliet for example when it says hey its every one telling them they cant be together and when it says wait its romio telling Juliet to wait and when it says screams all sound the same its Juliet saying the people saying she cant be with romio all sound alike and when it says though the truth may vary the ship will carry our bodies safe to sore its Juliet's way of saying what they say is not real and that when both of them die they can finally be together in a better place without judgement.

I think that the song is about a married couple.The husband is dead, and the wife wants to kill herself to be with him. I got this from the words:

I think this song is referring to the illuminati and the hidden secrets behind the music industry. The guy represents the devil and the women represents a dedicated artist in the making. "don't listen to a word I say, the screams all sound the same" they are both suggesting that you don't fall into their trap and listen to them because all of the screams(music) sounds the same. Also the screams can represent death, death is all the same, however you die doesn't matter cause in the end we all die, regardless of the fact that we lived a good or bad life. " though the truth may vary this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore", no one knows the truth about the music industry, it varies from person to person. The meaning of this verse always states that we all take different paths in life (in the song different ships) the path we take will still take us to the same ending (shore). The shore represents the end of time or the end of life. "I don't like walking around this old and empty house" so the devil says, come with me I'll walk with you my dear. the house represents the world, it can be lonely and feel like its empty at times. "the stairs creek as you sleep it's keeping me awake" the girl is hearing things because she is now acknowledging the devil which is making her go insane, to the point where she can't sleep at night. The devil tries to comfort her by saying just close your eyes. "some days I can't even trust myself" she doesn't trust that she's making the right decision and its killing the devil to see her this way ("it's killing me to see you this way"). "there's an old voice in my head that's holding me back" the voice in her head is her conscious trying to knock some sense into her, trying to keep her from going to the dark side. So the devil replies and says "tell her I miss our little talks" by talks the devil means debates. He misses them scarastically meaning I am now taking over and you are now just a petty little voice. "soon it will be over and buried with our past" soon this life will be over and just buried with the rest of our sins. "we used to play outside when we were young and full of life and full of fun" the devil remembers when he tried to bring her to the dark side when she was younger but it never worked, that was when she was still young and innocent filled with love and happiness. "some days I don't know if I am wrong or right" the girl is still questioning the decision she made, she doesn't know if she took the right path. The devil reassures her decision by saying "your mind is playing tricks on you my dear". "your gone, gone, gone away I watched you disappear, all that's left is a ghost of you" the good is gone and she watched herself transform from a good girl to a sinner. "were torn, torn, torn apart there's nothing we can do, just let me go we'll meet again soon", she's telling the good or the angel that was once inside her that they are torn apart and she needs to let her go, (because she is now one with the devil). But she tells the angel that they will meet again soon, perhaps in her dreams or in another life. If you don't agree with my interpretation, watch the music video. In the end the girl (who is a Jin or an evil spirit) follows the men who are on a journey. However, they are weak and helpless without the girl. She helps them and saves them (or at least thats what they make it look like) while they run into battles. She then leads them to a goat (the devil) and she smiles because her mission was accomplished.
