Who Says Lyrics

[Verse 1]

I wouldn't want to be anybody else
You made me insecure
Told me I wasn't good enough
But who are you to judge
When you're a diamond in the rough
I'm sure you got some things
You'd like to change about yourself
But when...

Who Says by Selena Gomez is a song saying who no matter who hurts you, or who tells you you cant, is wrong. It doesn't mattter what people think of you. It matters what you think of yourself as a person. You can do whatever you dream of. Dream can become reality.

I don't like the way it says 'Who says your not perfect.' I think nobody's perfect and everyone has their flaws and that's what makes us who we are.

OK, "who are you to judge, when your a diamond in the rough" That line makes no sense because if you think about it, a diamond in the rough is actually a compliment. So - "who are you to judge, when your a diamond in the rough" It just doesnt make any sense it was a bad choice of lyrics.

Selena gomez is just saying be yourself. People will make fun of you and you want to change all the flaws... But dont. You are beautiful the way you are without makeup and being skinny. Im overweight for my age and I dont wear makeup but I dont care. I dont wear makeup because I dont like to feel pretty when I have shit on my face. I feel pretty when my hairs messed up and im wearing basketball shorts, being myself. When do you feel pretty? when you are yourself. Thats gomezs message

It means selena is really arrogant.... 'I'm just beautiful me!' but it's still catchy and inspiring.

I hate this song so much. It's making me insecure just listening to it. I'm not insecure and if you are, there's a million other songs out there. F***in perfect, firework, etc.

the song was not written by her, so of course the meaning will not be what she wants it to be. the real meaning is just don't give a damn about others because you're beautiful no matter what. but of course, selena ruined the entire meaning when she said in public that the song was meant for those justin bieber fans who offended her.

what a weird twist of events..

I thought it was a song Selena wrote for her close friend Demi Lavoto who has been going through some hard times with bipolar issues and bulimia... but I am not sure!

This song is basically telling people not to listen to what insecure people say about you. They only criticize you because they are jealous and want to change things about themselves. It also says that you shouldn't say things liek that to other people because it seriously hurts them. All in all, haters hate, but just forget them and know that you can do whatever you wnat, there words don't change who you are and your potentiel for great things.

I think that this is an encouragement song, I think Selena Gomez is trying to express what she feels to her fans... Yeah, Selena is indeed perfect but nobody is perfect and everybody have flaws, so I think this song is trying to say that everybody is unique, don't judge anyone, be yourself

This songs relates to me and my life because it has great meaning. This song means that we shouldn’t listen to what other people say about us. Nobody can tell us something bad about what we do or who we are. We shouldn’t let others change us because we’re perfect the way we are and we should embrace our beauty. It’s also about our inner beauty - we should just be ourselves instead of trying to be someone better as in: outer beauty. No one can’t tell us, girls that we can’t be perfect or achieve better things in life, and we’re not the best, not worth it, not pretty, not beautiful, not star potential, or not presidential just like in the song.

I’ve experienced this song in 6th grade, too. Sometimes, I hear people in school being mean to each other. They shouldn’t listen to those bullies. We shouldn’t judge people by what they look like. In the song it also says, “But who are you to judge.” It’s the personality about that person that matters the most-their inside and inner beauty. It’s not about what they look like on the outside. If someone looks nice outside doesn’t mean they could be nice inside. You have to know them first. Sometimes I get bullied, too and I hear people saying I’m not worth it but, that’s ok for me because I wouldn’t listen to them anyways. We shouldn’t judge a book by its cover either. Selena Gomez says that we’ve got every right to a beautiful life. She made this song to give her fans a message and yes, we, her fans, do understand that we should never listen to any thing negative because WHO SAYS we can’t be or do that?!
