It's not that I can't find the words to say
But when she's with him, she seems happier
And I don't want to take that away
How many times can I see your face?
How many times will you walk...

I think it's about a boy who is deeply in love with a girl who is already in a relationship, he wants to be with her badly but knows she isn't sure what to do as she doesn't wanna hurt the boy she's currently with . Although she gives him hope and he wants to express his love for her in the hope she'll realise he'll be the one to love her the most and the one that'll feel the luckiest to be with her. "I'm not tryna start a fire with this flame"- he doesn't wanna cause trouble between her and her boyfriend. "I got you this rose"- hes giving her his feelings "will you let it die or let it grow"- will she ignore his feelings and let his heart die or begin a new relationship with him and let it grow

I think this song is about a guy that has a crush on his friend, his crush has a boyfriend and he doesn't want to tell her directly his feelings because he thinks she's better with the other man, but deep down he has hope.

I think this song is about a girl that has a boyfriend but he (Shawn) and the girl used to go out but she has somewhat "moved on" but he wants to see if she wants to get back together or if she wants to forget about their past relashinship but he's worried that he is the only one that wants them to get back together so he's giving her the option between getting back together or moving on

I think that Shawn mendes loves this girl but she has a new boyfriend and he is using a metaphor of "got you this rose will you let it die or let it grow" witch probably means I'm giving you my love will you take me and give me love or will you not and let me be without you

Well I think that this song can be interpreted many ways, most commonly that a guy likes a girl but she has a boyfriend. I also think it could be a metaphor for how the grass is always greener on the other side, and that we always want what we can't have. The guy likes the girl that is taken. He can't have it but he wants it.

I think the song is about a guy who loves this girl he's singing about but the girl is already in a relationship. It seems like he really loves her and doesn't want to mess up the relationship she has with this other guy. He loves her so much that seeing her happy with him makes him happy, but at the same time he's sad because he wants to be the one making her happy in the relationship that he isn't a part of.

I think that the rose is a metaphor for the relationship between the boy and the girl. The girl is already taken though and the boy is kind enough to try not to come between them so he simply gives the girl a rose to see if she would let it die or let it grow. If she lets the rose from him grow she's willing to give it a chance and if she lets it die then she doesn't really care about it.

For me the song is about a guy who likes/loves a girl. The guy wants to see what happens if they will enter the ‘girlfriend boyfriend’ stage. He gives her a rose to see what the girl would do; she will either let it grow (to accept the guy in her life) or let it die (giving up)

This song is so sweet.... Roses is about wanting a girl but she is already taken by other person. He wants to see where the relationship would go but doesn't want to mess up what she already has with the other person. He gives her a rose to see if she wants to let their relationship grow and blossom into something beautiful or let it die and give him up.

The song is about how there's a girl that is in love with him or he loves her idk and he is using a rose metaphor that means that he wants to know if she will "let it die or let it grow" saying that he wants to trust her and for her to be "honest"
