I think it is about having a crippling addiction when you live in a society of people who are very judgemental of you and would rather have nothing to do with you when all you need is a hug.

I believe its about a man with serious social anxiety and possibly a crippling drug addiction.
he is suffering from PTSD and this song is what its like to live with his severe anxiety. -
To me the song is about people you hate wanting to die, if you listen to the lyrics close enough you'll know why.
But the songs meaning is about the frontmans dislike towards George Bush. -
