Silverstein: Your Sword Verses My Dagger Meaning

Your Sword Verses My Dagger Lyrics

and I would tell the truth but I can't help myself
Red rushes out, dissect this nerve
and I will stop myself before I reach my cell

I wasn't asking for the world
and you know that I'm not the one to...

I think that this song is about... Like there were two dudes... They were like rivals??? And in the end they collide... And one dies O.O THATS what I think this songs about... Like the title... obviously one of them is stronger cause he has a sword... The title just tells so much!

No, the bit of romeo and juliet is metaphorical.

This song tells the story of a relationship, a boy and a girl, that is about to break. The girl is obviously a drama queen, and the guy never asks anything more, hence the bit "I wasn't asking for the world".

In my opinion, I think this song is based on the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. If you look at the lyrics it says "drink the poison when you think it's over" and Romeo takes the poison because he believes Juliet is dead. another sign is that at the end of the song it says "Verona lives inside of you" which is the setting of Romeo and Juliet.
