You may have the right interpretation, however, Soma is not a fictional drug and is in fact real usually dispensed in it's generic form carisoprodol. Possibly relating the breakup with the dependency of Soma.

Billy Corgan and his girlfriend had just broken up and this song describes how Corgan was feeling after the break-up. (they later married and then got divorced in 1997). A soma was a fictional drug from the book "Brave New World"
