Soundgarden - Helter Skelter Meaning

If this is the Beatles helter-skelter, the meaning is the meaningless repetition, in general. But the context of the times and the sound of the music implies madness. Sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Sex and Drugs are more implied by "coming down fast but I'm miles above you."
You go up, go on a ride, you go down, do it again.
The line 'you may be a lover, but you ain't no dancer'implies we're doing something outside of the traditional spiritual practice.
