This song is about an abusive father/father figure who will answer for his crimes in the life after. One day he will meet his reckoning. His hands which should have comforted his young instead deliver pain and fear. He is less than a human being or father, crimson hands mean they are bathed in blood from the abuse he delivers.
He is yellow bellied, at his core, he is a coward, harming the innocent because he can . Every day his crimes slowly steal the light from his children's eyes, but he doesn't care. His presence alone sucks the life out of his family and leaves only darkness in its wake. They hide from him and pray for an escape and will never know mercy or forgiveness from him.
