Ocean Man Lyrics
Ocean man, the voyage to the corner of the globe is a real trip
Ocean man, the crust of a tan man imbibed by the sand
Soaking up the thirst of the land
Ocean man, can...

#1 top rated interpretation:You see, it's a metaphor, that anyone is the ocean man, the ocean man is what you make him, that's the beauty of the ocean man.

#2 top rated interpretation:The "oberman" is a reference to Nietzsche's philosophy on Zarathustra. The "oberman", or "overman" or "ubermensch" is a sort of "superman" type of human. It implies the complete transcendence of a regular man into the superior man, who justifies the existence of the human race.

#3 top rated interpretation:Ight hear me out. There's this guy and he really- like really really- wanted to go to the ocean, so much so that he engulfs himself within oceanic culture and the atmosphere. This man decides to identify as an ocean and this love for the salty spittoon was founded by a childhood trip. This man is the subject bounded by the song that the two artists continually describe throughout the length of the song. Ween aims to communicate to the listener that they can also consume themselves into the oceanic culture, but this man- this man- has done it the best. He is the Jesus of the ocean if you will... like Poseidon.

Ocean man is just an illusion by the songwriter/band, Ween. When Aaron Freeman(One of the band leaders of Ween) was a kid he used to have hallucinations of a man made of water, Ocean Man is what he called him. Sooner he felt like he and Ocean Man had a close relationship. When Aaron was older he kept seeing Ocean Man but not as often so he decided to write a song about him to remember him even when he was no longer there.

in my opinion, this song is about how sometimes, in a world full of negativity, we can always see our inner child and how some of us may find it confusing (Ocean man, the voyage to the corner of the globe Is a real trip and Ocean man, the crust is elusive when it casts forth
To the childlike man) and how, no matter when, our inner happiness never leaves us no matter how much we evolve (Ocean man, the sequence of a life form braised in the sand, Soaking up the thirst of the land)
I know this is problably not a good interpretation, but in the bad situation and the corrupted world we're living in, its always great to see positivity in life.

I think that the Ocean Man is obviously a representation of childhood hopes and dreams. How beach evokes memories of childhood summertime and how everything was good back then. But then the water of the ocean got soaked up by the thirst of the land (reality), as it destroy everything that could have ever been good like childhood aspirations. Truly a deep and meaningful piece of intellectual media.

Ocean is love. Ocean is life. This song is a beautiful interpretation of an oceanman. And the ocean. He sings about the ocean. Ocea-

it is only the life of a fisherman his day to day, his trips to the ocean that in the end the ocean is any corner of the world, a man tanned by the sun, who for his hard work sweats and quenches the thirst of the land, who since little one has only known that life so it is not a job for him but what gives meaning to his life

It's is about how the artist ween embraces the ocean.

Isn't it just about evolution?

It's not about the Ocean Man per se. It's about getting help from the Ocean Man.

Ocean man might mean the ocean god and they are writing this song why they are on drugs.

You guys know that they write their songs whilst they're high, right? I mean, it's most likely a fictional character that rides a surfboard, and is quote in quote, "Chill." I think it's nothing deep or personal, and it's perhaps just a man chilling, whilst riding his surfboard.

"Ocean man, the crust of a tan man imbibed by the sand/Soaking up the thirst of the land" maybe means some kids buries a very fat man that fell asleep on the beach, and the rest, maybe some other fat guy came out of the water and flopped onto the beach, then someone pointed and screamed "BEACHED WHALE!"
