I Don't Want to Miss a Thing Lyrics

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping

    My opinion

about a mother and her baby (or a parent and their child)and that moment when you fall in love with your baby and know that you never want to miss a thing.

It makes me cry everytime I hear it, when my son was a few months old I heard this song and held him in my arms and danced and cried. I used to watch him sleep, watch his eyes flicker & move & wonder what he was thinking and dreaming. It just sums up perfectly the love and joy I feel for him.

My dad (may he rest in peace) used to sing this to me. I'd even request it for him. I think it was for the movie but to his daughter and that she was the inspiration. Then I kiss your eyes that is such a fatherly thing to do, kiss on the eyes, forhead, nose, hair. Everything isn't about lovers.

I may be way offline here, but growing up, this was mine and my dad's favourite song, it was like our song, and when we sang it together it was like we were singing it to eachother, didn't matter who was listening or who was watching we would sit there and sing it loudly and proudly never once losing eye contact, that's what makes me think its aerosmith singing to his daughter, liv.

This is about his daughter, Liv...
It was for armaggedon and she was in it... He wrote it bc he loves her so much.
