   The song is about how he "killed" his old self to become better for someone else because he felt as in this other person would not like the old Alec Benjamin. Only problem was this person was undeserving of what he did because as it says in the song "I followed your direction, did everything you asked
   I hope it makes you happy, 'cause there's just no turning back," which shows that it almost looks like the other person would leave if he didn't completely change himself.

   I saw someone's opinion abot how the meaning is about an adult/teenager who would kill soeone if his loved one asks him too. And at first i did'nt agree with it because the song is mainly about changing yourself but while a was thinking about i think there is a probability of that person's theory to be true because the song says "I followed your directions, did everything you asked" and this makes me believe that his loved one asked him to kill someone for her changing him in the process too, so he probably killed "himself" but also killed someone else in a literaly way.

   At first, I thought they literally killed someone for her, but later found myself believing that he was changing himself for his crush. Now I think,(I know it's a bit out there) he maybe killed his family, that's why he says
   "I did it all for her
   So I felt nothing at all"
   As if he killed someone he would be upset about murdering.
   Or another thought of this is he killed himself because his crush is dead, like when he says
   "My face is on the news?
   'Cause I killed someone for you"
   As if he is missing, or reporting that he is dead.
   It kind of is like the one deathly hollows story where the guy murders himself for his crush because she is dead.
   I do know this is so out there, and not too much to back up this, but it's possible.

   To the anonymous writer on May 16th who wrote, "Otherwise, he wrote an entire song based on symbolism."
   
   YES, the entire song is based on SYMBOLISM. And at the same time it's also NOT symbolism since music is art and art can be interpreted in more than 1 way.
   
   So the flashing lights and sirens could either be an ambulance OR the popo's since he also hurt himself. And his disguise could be his own blood which is why she didn't recognize him.
   
   Point being, this is what makes the song so great other than the beautiful vocals and harmonies - it's up for different interpretations!
   
   And yes, it's a VERY DEEP song. Hope everyone loves it as much as I do.

   I think most of you are being "too deep". Although I agree that he killed his old self for her, I believe he killed someone else as well. Otherwise, he wrote an entire song based on symbolism.
   Washing blood off his clothes and wiping down the walls. Hearing sirens. Practicing his confession, in case he takes the stand.
   So again, I feel he killed someone for her, and killed who he used to be in the process.

   I also think it's about changing who you were in the past and being a complete different person, since you thought that whoever you loved would not like the old you and everything feels like it was worth it. It's basically about changing yourself because you thought your old self is not that compatible with whom you love so that who you love will also love you back the same way since your now a complete different person and your past self has been "killed".

    i actually love the song especially it somehow reminds me of Cross sans being a Yandere For his "Lover" (Dream sans) the song makes me wanna actually sing this and get inspired from it

    In my opinion, this song is about a teenager or adult who would do anything for the one he loves. And if the person wants the teen/adult to kill someone for them they will. And the person asks the teen/adult to kill someone, but he does, so that's why in the song it says "Would you love me more? If I killed someone for you? Would you hold my hand? The same one that I used when I killed someone for you"
