My life was empty, forever on a...

The song is about Ozzies' culinary skill, and love for the herb called sage, and its delicious flavor enhancing abilities, when use in making marinara, and pork dishes. Its definitely not about spliffs.

The song, an obvious hymn to recreational marijuana use, got its title from a packet of cigarettes bassist Geezer Butler bought in Dublin that claimed the tobacco was "the sweet leaf." The song begins with a tape loop of guitarist Tony Iommi coughing!!!

Other songs with lyrics related to drug use by Black Sabbath include: "Hand of Doom", "Fairies Wear Boots", "Supernaut", and "Snowblind".

The song ISN'T about weed or anything, even though it does seem like it. It is actually about an air freshener of which they had in their car, it was called sweet leaf.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

So, here comes another song about weed. I mean, this song is definitely about marijuana, it's pretty obvious... What else could it be about, tea or something ?

This song is about people who seek and find themselves through marijuana. Weed enabled him to escape depression and to discover new things in life. Smoking reefer is introspective "introduced me, to my mind".
Regular and conform people "straight" don't perceive the values of marijuana and just shut it out. Whereas he has found salvation in it.

    This song is just great!

Marijuana---weed-grass-pot-----plain and simple----he (ozzy) is singing about how people don't know how great weed is a soon everyone will love weed----thats what the lyrics say----simple as that

he says straight peiople don't know what you are about---now-he is talking about people off weed-----it has nothing to do with sexual; orientation
