   This song nails someone who suffers from bipolar or borderline personality disorder and has someone strong there for them and is able to withstand the up and down mood swings, the hurt, and self destruction...I could go line for line and every bit of this song would match the description... Great great song whatever the meaning of it is.

   At first I, like most people, was thinking the song is about a very important woman in his life. But the more I thought about the lyrics, I'm led more to believe that is is about Jesus. I believe it to be about how God gave his one and only son for our sins. And how we receive salvation only through Jesus Christ.
