Sugar, We're Goin Down Lyrics

Am I more than you bargained for yet
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song

I know it probably sounds like I'm repeating everyone, but its obvious this songs about a guy and a girl who only have a sexual relationship, but he begins to love her for all the right reasons, but she is in love with a different guy.

This songs about a guy who's good friends with this girl he's really into. He keeps trying to get her attention as a guy she might like but she doesn't see him that way cause she has a different love interest.

This song is kinda cute because it's about a physical relationship and there's no love involved and da guy realises he loves her...:)

I think that they mean conflict when they are saying complex. Something complicated, so maybe he's is blaming god for whatever he's upset about, and saying I'm just going to end it. I seen a lot of blink 182 lyrics race through my head when I read "drop a heart, break a name". Everytime I look for you "Hearts are wasted, lives are broken." they jumble it up to make you think about it

jeez. a GOD COMPLEX is where you choose who lives who dies. not being in love with your mother. That would be an oedipus complex. He's killing himself and taking her down with him.

Ok, everyone is going on about what Pete said in an interview and blahdy blahdy blah, but isn't the point of interpreting something so that you can use your own mind and independently extract what you may from it? The beauty of lyrics is that there is a lot of diversity in the way they may be interpreted so people should celebrate the independent thinking and creativity involved in this process and not criticise or try to belittle people for being "wrong".

I think it's about raping monkeys. This is how aids started, and pete is saying how people should use protection. "cock it and pull it" as a reference to ejaculation

Has anyone here ever heard the lyrics to AC/DC's "Back in Black?" He makes a reference to being "number one with a bullet." So it meant something back in '85 when that was written, it must mean the same thing now. I don't know what though, any help on that?

This song is bout two people who have a sexual relations
The guy doesn't know the girl is with someone else
when he finds out he is jealous that he could be number 2 , thus the line " ill be your number one with a bullet"

Then, " A loaded God Complex"

God Complex is like narcicism, he thinks he above everyone, almost god like.

    "Cock it and Pull it"

As w/ the bullet earlier, he's gonna kill the other guy

I think that this song is about the guy being gay. He says many different things that show this. One thing that he says is that he is watching you to from the closet and he means that he did not come out of the closet yet. He also says that it is messed up how he is just dying to be him but he should want to be with her not him. He also says drop a heart, break a name and if he wasnt gay he would say the normal saying of drop a name, break a heart. He says that he wants to kill himself for being gay like the loaded god complex cock and pull it because he does not want to be gay. It says he's going down down swinging because he's gay and its gonna be a crazy time. The guy also says we're always sleeping in but we're sleeping for the wrong team, meaning that the guys should be sleeping with each other and not the girls. He says he has been dying to tell him (the other gay guy) everything he wants to hear ( that he likes him because there both gay) and that's just who I am this week, so he could be Bi because he likes the guy this week. That is what I really believe the hidden meassage is behind this song if you really think about it, so just think about it please!

i interpret "don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet, wishing to be the friction in your jeans" as him always noticing her with her b/f everywhere and how he wishes he could be the guy... people are so perverted... not everything is sexual you little 13 year old horny boys!

I don't have the time to look through 120+ interpretations of this song to see if this has already been said, but here's my opinion… The boy in the song is totally obsessed with the girl and so he is now stalking her to get her attention. This is hinted at in the line "I'm just a notch in your bedpost". It plays with the idea that no matter where she is, he's somewhere near, and nearer than she thinks he is. Then there's the obvious "I'm watching you two from the closet" (also telling the listener that the girl is already with someone), and the "friction in your [her] jeans" can be interpreted two ways. There's the fact that he wants sexual contact with her, and there's also another case of him relating himself to an everyday/commonplace thing in someone's life. Obviously, friction in jeans and notches in bedposts can't watch people around them, but he can, and he's saying that he is or wants to be one of those things, it pretty much means that he is with this poor unwary girl wherever she goes.

Oh for god sake! Isn't it obvious?! It's just about a guy who loves a girl and wants her back! He wants to save her from this other dude and he woujld do anything to get her back from him
