I always thought that this song was about the new generation of kids coming up today who basically have been raised from birth to fight World War 3 and you know they're saying you better learn to shoot or learn to duck now originally I misunderstood one line and that is not afraid to step into the fire because we can't see the light and I always looked at that light is being the light of salvation and you're not afraid to step into the fire because you can't see the light Step Into the Fire of World War 3 I mean

I believe this song is about doing drugs and tripping on acid, and getting the idea that you want to be famous. “We’re gonna run this light” is a line that I assume is about outrunning a light’s light (what I mean is that he’s trying to run across the room before the light from the light gets to the end of the room), and to run a light you need to be fast, and a normal human would doubt an attempt to run a light. Now, the drugs are still in his head, and he now has an idea to become famous AND do it for the money.
