   For me this is a political, visionary and thoughtful song, created with love and care by the magnificent Katy Perry. I believe it's about our pastime and place within the western culture and society that is in crisis to which has caught up to us, for really wanting to make us ''think'' how to deal with ''the other'' as our other. While enjoying our passtimes with a more of a conscience mindset of hope towards understanding ourselves within the rest of the world to make a better future together. From ''not to be inslaved'' and ''chained to the rhythm'' in negative ways anymore, just to have fun without thinking ourselves out of our bubbles. Especially if and when being ''circled and trapped mentally'' by our Controllers ''ideologies'' of The Far Left much more then The Far Right that has been influencing us to be ''Oblivious to Reality''. Lost and trapped in our bubbles of false securities with pleasures and enjoyments that has and always been in search for those Utopian or Sacred dreams of ours that became ''chained to the rhythm'' of our x-normal life. That ''now truely'' wants us to find that healthier balance between the Two Opposites that was causing us to become too extreme.

   Its about today's society and how we live - not thinking or unable to change (living in a bubble) the big picture of how the world is changing for the worst.
   Bombs, immigration and the sadness of the world and it just goes on and on and on.

   My interpretation of it is that we are refusing to see the reality of it-rose coloured glasses- and we have this idea of a perfect life-White picket fence- and we are so caught up in it, that we fail to notice things outside this virtual dream. In the music video, she pricks herself on a rose- this means that everything has a dark side- a concealed sharp edge. We see long lines of people swaying in time to the music-we are just followers of our own idealistic picture...

   This is about how most first world countries and people are pretending like nothing is wrong (rose colored glasses being something said to people who try to ignore the negatives to something and assume nothing is wrong) and people should do something about.
