   When I listen to the song, it makes me feel like it is dedicated to those with depression and suicidal thoughts "You are not alone, I am here with you" And also telling those who lost their lives to suicide or abrupt deaths, saying that no matter how far away they are (heaven...etc) they will always be with us and here letting them know, even when it seems like you are all alone, that there will always be someone or something with you.

   This song is about God and how even tho we can't hear or see Him, we must trust that He is with us... Especially when times get hard and we don't understand... "I can hear your prayers, your burdens I will bear. But first I need your hand then forever can begin"... Who do we pray to? Who bears our burdens? Michael was/is a very spiritual man... To the day he died, his faith was never shaken... he used his gift to spread Gods message to love all... no matter how famous he became, he remained humble... He lived his life imitating Jesus (which is how we all should)... he even said so in multiple interviews... Michael is truly an angel... Ever look up his name? N

   This song is a dedication or tribute to lost loved ones who have passed away. As sung "you never said goodbye" gives a clue that this person or let's say in this case the girl that Michael is painting has passed away in some sort of accident. He is dealing with the pain and emotional damage put upon him from this loss. The psychological painful effects circulate in his head and from the optimistic corners of this artistic mind "something whispers in my ear and says". Refering to some sort of paranormal force or angelic spirit being communicating to him. This spirit is there to support and strengthen him as it says "you are not alone, I am here with you". Then it says "though you're far away, I am here to stay" which directs towards the idea that "I am here to stay" in your "heart" and at the same time in a better place. Same idea where it says "though you are apart" except vice-versa you are always in my heart, her heart. Lastly towards the end he says "whisper three words and I'll come runnin". These three words could be anything that expresses affection to each other, such as I LOVE YOU or it may simply COME TO ME. This means if she were here and were to whisper these three words he would go instantly to her physical presence.

   It's weird because, the song never really hit me as hard until I lost my great grandpa to a brain tumor when I was 9 years old or 9 and 1/2 but still. I actually just got done listening to the song I wasn't even able to finish the song because I started getting in the feels if you know what I mean. I don't know why but it's like the song was just making me think of him because I know he's always there watching over me and with me but I can't see him and I guess that's why ... I don't know just it's a mixture between happiness and sadness. So I guess that this song doesn't really take effect on you unless you've lost anyone or anything important to you say a parent a grandparent a loved one in fact or even a dog or a cat or a pet as long as you cared for them and they were a loved one to you I guess you will never really understand the song in the way of emotion and how you feel until you lose that very thing you care about or love. That is my interpretation of the song not really an interpretation but a opinion I like the song I really do but it's like I can't even listen to the full thing without bursting in tears.

   This song has taken on a new meaning since losing my stepdad to Cancer in July 2017. Somehow I sense connection between him and this song. He is physically gone but still very much with me in other ways.

   see this song was written by R-Kelley and this song is was written for a teenager who suffered through a miscarriage and Michael had thought it was a love song so you know him not knowing what the song truly meant he realized it and it became a hit then he realized the song was about R-Kelly's 15 year old wife that had suffered a miscarriage. So yeah I think that makes the song even more beautiful.

But when he thinks about this,it seems to him that someone who loves him whispers in his ears that he is not alone and that person is with him.Then Michael understands the person whom he loves can not be alone because he is always with her and keeps her in his heart.

    as we all know michael did not write this song. he chose it to sing. like he did shes out of my life. well as i beleive he chose this song to try to let his true love know no matter were he was or who he was with hes love was always with her. and she would never be without him or his love.and he would always feel her. and if she ever called out to him he was always there for her.she would always be in his heart. corney or not

    My husband passed away this morning. As I say with him last night I played some music on YouTube that he liked. One was a song from Nova Scotia. When I clicked on the song to play this song played instead. He was in a sedated state and I cried because the words were so fitting for that very moment. It will now always hold a special place in my heart.

    When I watched this video, I noticed it featured Lisa Marie, and when I heard the commentry on it by Jackson's family and friends, my interpretation became this;
    
    This was to assure the world that their love, no matter how short it was, was real. It was written to Lisa Marie as a love song, assuring her she wasn't alone.
    
    "Who Is It" is pretty much the turn-around of this song.
