The boy has a problem. He can't talk to the girl that he likes. Finally, when he does, he believes it had no effect on her because it was a plain conversation. He then thinks of an excuse for such a boring conversation. When that doesn't work, he becomes confused and doesn't know why.

When he's around the girl, he gets a specific feeling that he never gets around anyone else. He doesn't know what kind of a feeling it is, though.
"Left a message but it ain't a bit of use,

Playin' the show and running down the plane."
I suppose this is a few years from now, and he calls her over the phone. She doesn't answer, and he leaves a message. Unfortunately, she never calls him back. He grows through some pictures of high school (or some other grade where he knew her), and looks at the pictures. He wonders where the girl is. Finally, he sees her outside of his home and they have yet another conversation. That night, he dreams of her running down the plane, and such.

Basically the same thing, he knows how he feels around her, but he doesn't know the feeling he gets. -

All his cynicism and dismissal of true love gets attacked when he suddenly falls into love that he cannot figure out what it is, how it happened, what to do, or what it is he is even feeling. He knows, he doesn't know, the problem he can't explain, no reason why isn't plain. The true love completely blows his mind.

He can't explain the way he feels and he talks to her plainly and the conversations don't go anywhere. He makes up exuses why he cant be with her.He tells himself that he feels nothing, until he sees her,then things get complicated and it becomes clear the way he feels when he's around her. -
Hes confused and at the same time he knows how he fells about that person cause of the time being separated not seeing each other in a long time cause thats what time does to a person you forget how you fell when you move on,but you start to remember how you fell about them one is can be confused on how they fell about that person since the fellings came back as soon as he saw her.

He pulls himself together, stops questioning be cause he's happily married but he doesn't really know why he was that confused.

Finally he meets her and she puts up a story why she didn't reply to his message and then takes a walk.

Okay, this is like what think about this song:
He loves her, but she doesn't. As far as I understand this text, they have had an relationship until she figuered out, that she finally doesn't love him the way he does. He can't explain his problems. He also doesn't know how he feels around her, but at the same time he knows, because he loves her.
He leaves messages to convince her, or just because he's deperatly hoping for her to come back and understand, that she also loves him; he got pictures that are reminding him of her and they're living in the same area, because she saw him acting all happy, but inside he's dying.

I think the title Roulette is most likely used to compare love (or the particular relationship being sung about) to roulette, saying that they both are random and rely on luck...or something like that. To me, it's pretty much just be a straight up love song with a weird title

I think daron wrote this song (with a tad bit help from serj) but anyways-i think it's about serj. i mean, have any of you ever thought that they had a relationship?? why do you think they split up? why do you think daron's all sad and lost all his confidence? why do you think serj is kinda angry and lonely? there's a reason. Something happened between them, and i'm really worried for both daron and serj. they both miss eachother.
just go look at them when they sing this song together. what two guys sing a love song together? they love each other, and they miss eachother!

okay. daron knew a girl named talar. i guess they broke up. daron wrote a song about it. so, talar backwards is ralat, but that would sound weird. so he changed it 2 roulette. there.

Okay...this song, and I'm sure of this, is about someone realizing that is in love with another person, and is looking forward to what it has been done about the love he or she is feeling, like it has been trying to contact the person, get a response or a clue from the person...however the lines
"I don't know how I feel when I'm around you"
and the changing to
"I know how I feel when I'm around you"
it is clearly pointing something......insecurity from the person who is in love, because he don't know is what is being felt is real......and maybe, I say maybe, it may point that homosexual feelings are around.....
because when you're a homosexual person, and I am a lesbian, you don't know exaclty how do you feel around somebody you like until you've realized wwhat you are.....
i guess this is like that....
