"There was this girl who had dated a guy completely 'wild and crazy just so frustrating, intoxicating, complicated' and they eventually split up.
Now she is dating a guy who is 'sensible and so incredible that all her single friends are jealous. He is charming and endearing and she is comfortable. He respects her space and never makes her wait and he calls exactly when he says he will. He is close to her mother and talks business with her father. He says everything she needs to hear and its like she couldn't ask for anything better. He opens his car door for her and she gets into his car and he says that she looks beautiful tonight and she feels perfectly fine.
But she misses screaming and fighting with her former, and kissing in the rain and cursing his name at 2am and they are so in love that they act insane and that's the way she loved her life and her ex-boyfriend. Breaking' down and coming undone she feels that it's a roller coaster kinda rush
And she never knew she could feel that much. And thats the way she loved her ex.
In short: She has a perfect life with her present 'perfect' boyfriend but its just all too perfect for her and she misses all the fun she had with her former bf...the adventure and passion and all that made her complete and feel alive. this song reminds me of axactly the situation i am in right now , my first love was a bad boy .. toxic .. complicated .. everyones been telling me i deserve better which i do . I dated a really nice guy after him that treated me the way im supposed to be treated , he was the perfect boy every other girl wanted . But i always thought it could never come close to what i felt for my 'toxic' love . and theres lots of perfect guys that wants me but since my first year in high school ive been inlove with the messed up boy that only caused me pain .. but what i deserve and what i actually want are two completely different things .

I don't know why, but this song reminds me of the Salvatore Brothers. The perfect guy is Stefan (I know he and Elena had a "spark" but still.) He's the perfect guy for her, he respects her decisions. Damon, on the other hand, drives her crazy and tries to be a hero to her, even when she doesn't want him to, but she still loves him over Stefan.

Basically, she loved one guy but it was more of an arguing relationship than a (what i call) "lovey-dovey" relationship. so she breaks up with him and finds a perfect gentleman. but she sees that life is just too perfect for her and she doesn't feel anything with him. This song is about two different relationships with two completly different boys, one who is a perfect gentleman, and one who was complicated, hard to understand, etc.
Taylor dated the complicated guy, and their relationship was up and down but they still loved each other alot. Then, they broke up and she dated the perfect guy, but the "sparks" just weren't there. Us girls all know that there's this one guy in our life that are sooo complicated, but you still love him to death, he's the 'one'.
