It was a last minute addition to the album. She said she wrote a song bout Joe Jonas on a radio interview. I'm pretty sure this is the song since he told her he loved her and I'm pretty sure he did use the 'forever and always' line. The lyrics fit what happened. BUT just so everyone knows every new song she comes out with is not about Joe. She writes a song about each guy that hurts her. Obviously she's been hurt a lot, but haven't we all?

This song is about her and Joe Jonas. He made all kinds of promises, saying he would love her "forever and always" and then broke up with her, on the phone, for another girl. A jerk move if I ever saw one, although I'm biased. Taylor Swift is my favorite artist!

This song is about when taylor was dating joe jonas. It was all going so well and i get this impression by "baby what happened please tell me cause pne minute it was perfect" then it goes "now i'm not so sure" which is when he starts to ignore her.
After a while, he never calls her back, like he promised. And she bascically remembers when he said to her forever and always. ❤ -

Its about how Joe asked her out and then after a few dates hes like "Oh we'll be together forever." and she says "Forever and always." then about a month or two he dumps her on the phone. Joe Jonas is not a man. especially since he did that.

It;s about Joe Jonas. She said in an interview it is about their break up and how he broke up with her over the phone in about 20 seconds. She was singing about how he said that he'll love her forever and always but then he dumped her like that.

I don't know if it's about Joe Jonas, never heard that one I'll have to google it lol ;) anyway, I always thought it was about a typical girl, and things seem fine with her bf until promises are broken, walls are built between the two as the akward silence continues, phone calls go un-answered, etc...
I might be wrong about the song meaning, I just like this song b/c it relates perfectly to me & my ex. Peace out peeps :) -

Further than she alreday said on The Ellen Degeneres Show that this song is about Joe there is the line
"I hold onto the night, you looked me in the eye and told me you loved me"
That's obviously about him, The Jonas Brothers has a song named "Hold On" and another one named "When you look me in the eyes". There's a line in this song that says " When you look me in the eyes and tell me that you love me everythings alright..."
And theres of course all the things about the phone... i love the Jonas Borthers but I also love Taylor =)... Sorry if my english sucks but I speak spanish =) -

This song is Taylors pint of veiw of her and Joe Jonas's last few months of their relationship. Joe told her he loved her...'forever and always'. But soon after, they drift apart and Taylor no longer feels the Sparks she did in the beggining...this is her way of saying;
"This isnt working anymore" -

It's a song about Joe Jonas, she explained it in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. In the song, it explains that he made all kinds of promises to her, promising that he'd always love her, but then all of a sudden became cold and distant and left her without any reason why.

This is about a boy that Taylor dated that told her that no matter what happens, they would always be together, (basically, he said he'd be with her forever And always). He didn't stay true to his promise, and so she wrote this song.
