   I don't believe that this is mainly about drugs. It is mainly about, in my opinion, not putting others down based on what they enjoy and/or like. Drugs are reference/symbol/example AJR used to convey the meaning that everybody has things that they enjoy that others may not enjoy.

   I see it as, he’s tried grass. Aka marijuana and he doesn’t like it, probably because it doesn’t help him focus but he can see that it helps others or makes others happy and he doesn’t want to stop them from doing something that makes them happy.

   I think that it is about drugs, but he isn't telling others that they can't do it. He's just saying that he doesn't enjoy it, but others can.
