Sing Me To Sleep Lyrics

#1 top rated interpretation:I also think it’s about death.Possibly of a lover or parent or possibly even the person singing.I think it’s the person singing because of the lines “Your lips are moving but i can’t hear a thing”possibly they are a ghost? Also”Remember me now, time cannot erase”If they were still alive or not dying why would they have to be remembered? And finally,”I’ve become what you cannot embrace”You can’t embrace a dead person or a ghost.

#2 top rated interpretation:I think it's about someone who wants to commit suicide so that they can see an old friend who died (i know, very sad, but...). The lyrics, "sing me to sleep," come across to me as the words that one would speak to death- "sleep" might refer to death and how the singer wants to go peacefully, without pain.

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:I think that Sing me to sleep is about a person whose lover is no longer by the person's side. The line "Our memories will be my lullaby" means that she will make their memories together be her lullaby (along with the next line "Sing me to sleep now") and will be the one to "sing" her to "sleep"(means that she will always remember and treasure their memories.

I think it's someone dealing with a breakup- not death. And the breakup might because they did something wrong, since "I've become something you cannot embrace". But they still miss their ex and is still willing to do anything for them.
Just thought I'd interpret something not including death... -
I think this song is about a girl who is in her deathbed asking her lover to sing her a song for the last time and when she dies, she comes as a ghost to help her lover in anything he does. Remembering the good times they had together and not being able to forget him even after death.
-
I believe it's about a girl who loves someone. That "someone" dies, and it makes the girl lonely, and now she wants to commit suicide to be with her lover.
-
I think that is it about a child who is on their deathbed and is to young to realise that. The child asks their mom to sing them to sleep and dies while their mom is singing(Your lips are movin',I can't hear a thing).
-
I think this song, it's about a person dying and asking that person beside him/her or his lover to sing him/her to sleep. The line "Wait a second, let me catch my breath Remind me how it feels to hear your voice Your lips are moving', I can't hear a thing
Living' life as if we had a choice Anywhere, anytime I would do anything for you Anything for you Yesterday got away Melodies stuck inside your head A song in every breath Sing me to sleep now Sing me to sleep Won't you sing me to sleep now? Sing me to sleep."

Sing me to sleep....say goodbye. It's not about the one singing, its about the one who needs to sing them asleep, walk away, sat goodbye as the other is as well accepting the same fate, a relationship that us no more, something that seemed to continue beyond what should have been and now to part ways even though there is love still there its over and time to part ways, loving, painful, still but done now, sing me to sleep, bye.
-
I think that this song talks about a breakup. Sleeping would be like no longer being with that person. "our memories will be my lullaby" is like slowing backing up and getting over a relationship. Sing me to sleep would be feeding off memories until they are dull in emotions. In other words getting over the relationship.
-
I think it is about a boy/girl who got their heart broken by his/her girl/boyfriend, and is now depressed, and pretends that the boy/girlfriend is still there, and they are asking the boy/girlfriend to “Sing Me To Sleep”.
-
I think this song is about a breakup, or an end to any kind of relationship. Because it talks about how they'd do anything for the other person. Just because they talk about memories doesn't necessarily mean the person they're singing for is dead. It doesnt specify anything about death either. I believe they just miss this person and wish they were around to settle their mind.
-
In the start of the song I heard "NO! please don't take my mother, I'm only four" I think this song is about somebody in a dangerous situation with gunning, causing the little girl to feel depressed.
-
i think that it means that someone that a person loves is in the military and that they just want to hear their voice and they know that they can't hear their voice and it makes them upset.
-
The lover is heartbroken and wants to die peacefully.
-
This somewhat reminds me of death? Like, a lot said this, but a specific one. I was relating this to my own story, (this is half fiction. After all, this is a story that I wrote based on my experience.) So, a girl's loved one is dead. So she's miserable, But her loved one is telling her just to let him go. (Sorry. I got pretty dark after my grandfather died.)
